Hello, I want to invest in Florida (Miami) and I would like an attic in one of those condo facing the ocean with pool and fit club. Any recos? Which are the best places I should tell my agent to look for?

    Aventura? Biscayne?

Aventura is nice. I'd live there if it weren't so far from work. It's also just a few minutes from Haulover Beach.
Hallandale Beach is on par with Aventura, but less costly on average.
Hollywood and Dania Beaches are the redneck capital of SoFla.
Ft. Lauderdale beaches aren't as crowded as the Miami beaches...comparison is night and day.

A friend of mine in Miami owns a condo in "Blue" at I195 and 1. The view is gorgeous...ceiling to floor glass. It has pools, fitness center and covered garage.

His place overlooks Biscayne Bay. But, that also means that his balcony, while high up, gets a lot of noise from the highway that runs next to the building. Aside from that he loves the place!

You are about a year behind in the 'investing' phase. The bargains are pretty much all gone, thanks to the declining dollar and thousands of South and Central Americans, not to mention Israelis who have plunked down cash for most of the desirable properties. The properties you see for 'cheap' on realtor.com are pretty distressed with huge assessments looming from low occupancy rates and no maintenance on some buildings since hurricane Wilma in 2005.

My advice is to come down here and rent for a while, South Beach, North Bay Village, etc. You might even like the new Miami Arts District.

Lastly be ready for a little culture shock moving here. It is not like any other place in the US. I love it! but it is diverse, noisy, and crowded at times.

    Good luck
