Have you found any early signs that you might have been gay?

Ever found a picture, movie, or anything that you could take as an early sign that you might have been gay?

I recently found / remembered that I used to watch the Little Mermaid a lot, in fact I watched it until the VHS no longer ran. I also played this game a lot. I think it was a sign.

All my life when I watched films I'd fall in love with the male lead and never paid much attention to the female (sexually). I admire the women but I wanted the guys...this I knew before I understood sexuality.

Little mermaid is my favourite Disney movie and always has been.

Anyway, my mom had a good friend who always used to watch me when I was younger. He was babysitting me one day and fell asleep on the couch and I remember his shirt was showing his bellybutton. I remember climbing on top of him to sleep too and I raised my shirt so my tummy was touching his. I ended up falling asleep on him too and when my mom came home she took a picture. I was fascinated with him and those were the earliest times I realized being attracted to men.

I remember especially in middle school I loved checking out guys' bodies on TV and the internet. I also admired attractive male cartoon characters and sometimes even fantasized about them having a thing for another guy(not sex)icon_redface.gif

I don't need to go looking movie or picture. There's an enlarged, framed picture hanging in the dining room. The picture if of me dressed in white gown. My mom always wanted girls so she used to dress me and my brother up. I seem to be enjoying myself too much on the picture. lol.

As a child, I had many crushes on many men icon_smile.gif

Also, I don't get how watching the cartoon shows mentioned above would be a sign that you're gay... icon_eek.gif

I often watched a lot of cartoons back in the 90s (back when Fox Kids was actually cool) . . . and I remembered seeing scenes where the muscle-bound hero often gets himself ambiguously involved with the pretty heroine. I would actually imagine myself in the place of the heroine herself, being caressed gently against the guy's warm, hard chest andOK TOO MUCH DETAIL icon_eek.gif

The point is that even as early as 8, I realised that I enjoy seeing the muscular male physique in a different way as my other friends in school did. They would admire it for the person's strength and "coolness", while I saw something innately intimate with it. It wasn't until I discovered about being gay when I started sexual education in Scotland that I knew what was going on.

Yes. I had some Sesame Street stickers when I was a kid, and one I particularly liked was that seal who sang "I Feel Pretty."

I stuck that one on my window.

So I had an affinity for show tunes when I was a wee lad.

paulflexes this is for you...Aladdin is REAL! Or at least the handsome, personable, strong singing actor playing him in the new "Aladdin, The Musical," which tryed out in Seattle and is headed to Broadway. Google him or get to NYC after it opens. Enjoy!

Pre-kindergarten, I paid more attention to chasing the boys than the soccer game I was supposed to be playing. Also, my mom said I was always distracted and chasing butterflies when out in the field.

I asked for a Barbie when I was 5. Nuff said.

They are referring to being turned on by specific male characters that are hott.
Never underestimate children's' understanding or their sexual attractions.

I wanted red shoes to be like Dorothy from the wizard of Oz icon_smile.gif

Even better, my mom knew i was gay before I did, and how sweet was she that she put sparkles on the front of those little red shoes to make them shine!!

I befriended girls far faster then I did with boys when I was very little. I don't remember her, but apparently when I first started preschool my best friend was a girl, and preferred to be friends with them. Even though most rejected me cause I was a boy. They felt safer to me, and boys were too "mean".

More then anything though, I just gave off crossed signs. I loved beauty and the beast, and loved playing house. I also loved rescuers down under and loved playing cowboys & indians. In the end though things added up slightly more on the girl side, so there was a satistical lean to being gay.

That's as lame as a paraplegic in a marathon.
(one of best friend became paraplegic - don't take that as an insult)
