Tired of being a "twink"!

    I hate the word "Twink" and of course hate being called one or categorized as one for being thin.

    I need some advice on bulking / toning up!

    I really want to get my chest and arms bigger...

    I am drinking 40g of protein before and after my workouts. I only do 5 mins of cardio to warm-up and hit the weights doing a "set to failure" style.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    (This comment only relates to your protein intake)
    40x2= 80 (grams)
    This is probably very wasteful as the body probably cannot absorb/use that amount within such a short time period.
    Distribute your intake productively throughout the day (including taking fast absoring proteins when you wake up, and before&after workout, and slow releasing Casein protein before sleep). Google for the amounts that would be productive for you.

    As for the OP, enjoy being called a twink. I was too overweight to acheive that illustrious title when I was younger...and I like twinks. icon_biggrin.gif

    I have exactly the same problem. You're not alone; I'm desperately trying to add mass. I think the important thing is to just eat, eat and eat. When you're not sleeping and working out, you should be eating (not junk though). Also, keep cardio to a minimum.

    Twinks are also supposed to be smooth. Hairiness is probably easier to achieve than bulk. So let those whiskers on your face grow and glue on those chest-hairpieces like there's no tomorrow. icon_twisted.gif

    don't bulk cause when you get old you lose the muscle and it just looks like fat. Tone Your muscles, youll get a little bulk but it will be pure toned muscle so it wount look flabby and gross when you get older. run a mile every two days. use weights that you can do multiple set of reps with like 10 reps 10 times. trust me i know what im talking about i used to be just skinny check my pics youll se you dont need to be bulky, just get ripped. do alot of push ups with you chest higher than your lower body use counters tables or chairs to do those do them with your elbows close to your sides and go straight up and down without bending your arms out to the side. then do wide arm push ups with your arms extended away from you. do this every two days. for 30 min. and youll get ripped, toned and defined.

    when you work out dont do it everyday, or do too many reps of anything because your body will get used to it and it wont give you results.

    Just keep lifting, be consistent and you'll make gains. It takes a while, but you'll get there.

    In the meantime, don't worry. You look great now. Any guy would love to date you or be your BF.

    Focus on being strong and not so much on "bulking up". If you're strong, you'll feel more confident and the comments about you being a twink won't bother you so much. I think thin guys are just as hot as built guys, personally, and I love throwing both around in bed. Keep your head up.

    check out a site called STRONGLIFTS. there's a great guy there that runs it. He has his own workout program that focuses on like five basic lifts. I followed the program for about it year. I bulked up some, but I wasn't really trying to get all that much bigger. Anyway look in his blog for an entry about GOMAD - gallon of mil a day...seriously. He points out that it's one of the cheapest and easiest forms of protein.

    I understand where you are coming from but you should learn to like the body you have. And don't change for others, change for yourself. I used to hate being called a twink as well but I just learned to accept and love my shape. After all, there's no point in hating yourself. Just keep exercising. I do this. I run, do push ups/sit-ups, do martial arts sparring and soon, I will be buying my own weights to help tone my arms. But doing these things help me appreciate my body. And honestly dude, you look great. So don't worry about what other people think of you. Embrace yourself. = )

    EAT (in memory of Chuckystud) and workout and it will happen

    and don't listen to all that loving yourself for who you are bullshit or you'll remain a skinny twink forever .

    The fact is is that who you are is a twink who doesn't want to be a twink any longer. Correct? that is who you are.. so make yourself into what you want to be..
