Maybe they don't believe in hotlist? I am sure they still find some of the guys hot here. I mean, it is RJ which is like a congregation of hot gay men.

So why no hotlist?? or they believe that by having a hotlist it will prevent them from having some sort of bonding experience with another guy??

    Let's discuss.

Why do you have have, or why don't you have, a hot list.

I feel that adding someone to your hotlist is like saying I appreciate your physique or great personality. I can't see much drama stemming from that.

Well, in my case, my hot list is more of a guideline to what kinds of guys I am looking for. I have had some kind of conversation with most of the guys on my hot list. So it is not really a physical attraction but a connectivity attraction. You know, like similar interests, same sense of humor, information to learn, etc.

I usually won't hotlist a guy till I've chatted with him a while, even if he hotlisted me first.
Looks are great, but personality seals the deal with hotness.

I think when you add someone to your hotlist it shows who you truly are looking for in someone here on RJ. when you buddy list someone you see them as more of a friend/homie rather than the person you wanna get it in with.

Some guys choose to not hotlist anyone on here for some strange reason it could be that they're shy are just not really interested

Hotlists, like buddy lists and photo comments are retarded. Who gives a shit who thinks who is hot. Who cares about your so-called buddies you probably dont know and wont ever meet. Who cares that someone wrote "hot pic" about your shot 25 times.

Just my take. I used to play into that shit when i was young and stupid and shallow but now Im above stroking egos and feeding arrogance.

Is this why you don't even have a photo? True question.

not really into stroking someone else's over-inflated ego. you realize soon that it's the same people getting hotlisted over and over, and these people are typically the douchiest people around.

Hotlisting is like a social excercise. Not to have one like not rooting for a favorite team or not having a favorite dish. It is; to an extent, a look into an individuals personality and character.

Not having one is a online social faux pas but also a protective mechanisms to remain elusive.

Hotel resort room for one as well. Who wants to even associate with someone who would say things like X_drive just did.

I call bullshit on this. Hotlists are not about admiring someones hard work, they are about highlighting the members of RJ that you find sexually appealing.

Think of how many people only have white guys on their hotlists. Is there a shortage of black and asian men with amazing bodies on this site? nope. But minorities are underrepresented in a lot of hotlists. Age is another area where hotlists can get a bit funky too.

If I had a hotlist, it would be filled with young defined asian guys. But that does not mean that those are the only types of guys I like or want to meet/date. I would hate the idea of some overweight guy or old guy or white guy wanting to say hi to me, but choosing not to do it because he doesn't thin he's my type.

Hotlisting just seems like high school shit to me. icon_neutral.gif

I will only hot list someone I have had some contact with, either in private or the main chat room. It's also a guide for the kind of guys I find attractive physically (my type). So if someone is radically different from the type of guys I have hot listed, I am probably not going to be attracted to them. I also use the hot list as a way of seeing if guys I chat with are online. I think RJ should require permission from you for someone to add you as a buddy. The buddy list implies a connection. if we have never chatted, I am certainly not your buddy.
