I use this before and after the gym, it's a good balance of carbs, proteins and fats...

    75g oats
    1 banana
    1 scoop whey protein
    2 tsp peanut butter
    1 small yoghurt
water, vary amount depending on how thick you like it

It's not built for flavour, but nutrition. It has a macro nutrient ratio of 50:30:20, carbs:proteins:fats, which is best for most workout routines. Having said that as long as you get a good combination of the flavour of the yoghurt and the flavour of the whey protein it can taste pretty good.

    2 cups milk
    1 banana
a handful of raw baby spinach

    blend

this is called a "green smoothie" and the spinach may sound weird but it doesn't add any taste to it you only taste the fruit , it adds more healthy nutrition....

I find the fruit smoothies pretty easy because you can throw in whatever you like and they taste good. But there's a lot of sugar. Knowing what to use for vegetable drinks is harder. Check out both these. They are available on Amazon.

I looooove green smoothies! The best tasting ones I found use spinach or water spinach (kangkong from the Asian grocery). Make sure you blend up the greens well first so you don't get chunky bits.

-Scoop of Optimum Gold Standard (Mixes very easy with a spoon, so you dont need a blender)
-6-8 oz of juice...Orange works great with the Vanilla protein powder
-1 cup of yogurt...Vanilla, peach or strawberry work the best. Make sure it has all the probiotics, and nothing you don't need like extra sugar or fat.

Super easy, fast and simple. AND no extra sugar.. Great way to start your day, very first thing upon waking. I do this ever morning and I feel awesome and my metabolism is jumpstarted.

    Healthier:
1 8oz glass of ice chips
    1 medium banana
    1 small handfull of blueberries
1 8oz glass high pulp OJ
1 6oz dannon fat free yogurt (based on mood, rasberry, peach, etc)
    2 scoops vanilla protein power

    Tastier:
1 8oz glass of ice chips
    1 8oz glass 1% milk
    1 small handfull of blueberries
1 6oz dannon fat free rasberry yogurt
    2 scoops vanilla protein power

Be careful with rasberries and blackberries. They sound like a good idea, but they end up just adding a shit ton of seeds and debris to your smoothie.

YUM. Damn it, now I'm hungry.

It depends on what you want really, if you want a healthier, tastier one or some thing that is just going to get the job done, while its not totally limitless as to the various types and flavours you can make it does make it hard to make your own when your not sure.

I was lucky enough to make decent ones at home for my guy and I because I've done this before, so best of luck in the hunt for that next good thing icon_cool.gif
