    GOVERNMENT REFUND CHECKS

The federal government is sending each and every one of us a $600
    rebate.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China.

If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.

If we purchase a computer it will go to India.

If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Brazil,
    Honduras, and Guatemala.

If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan.

If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan.

And none of it will help the American economy.

The only way to keep that money here at home is to buy: prostitutes,
weed, beer, cigarettes, whiskey, and tattoos, since these are the only
products still produced in the USA.

Thank you for your help & please support the USA.

shop at your local markets and support your local growers, your local artisans, your local producers. Or use the money to 'Green' your living space. act locally, think globally.

I wish we had the option to say, Keep my check.

I'm rather fond of the fire department coming should their be a blaze or the ER being functional if I break a leg.

I'm going to do that online lending thing, Kiva.
That aside, I'd still rather our government do something useful with the money. Not bailing out Bear Stearns or enabling the petroleum industry.

Does anyone really need anything else, aside from a place to use all three?

    hmmm..ours is already spent.

needed to do some renovations on our rental apartment, so between the supplies, installers, locksmiths, electricians, etc...we're doing a good job stimulating the local economy

I am donating it to local government in the form of increased property taxes. They have risen at the rate of 15% to 23% per year (the latter increase for 2008 relative to 2007) for the past 5 years.

Why would they raise yo local taxes? I thought there was a federal revenue sharing program. Oh, wait.

Donated mine to the Democratic National Committee. A tax give back in the era of post-Katrina New Orleans is flatly unconscionable. Republicans, oy...

Hey I just put a computer together and the little silica anti-humidity pack with the HD was made in USA! See, you're just spreading lies and propaganda! Shame on you! icon_razz.gif
Some things you just can't help.. they don't make cigars here, or GOOD hard cider. What's a guy to do? Hornsby Amber Draft is good, but I bet I some cider from the UK would knock my socks off!

And you forgot guns, we make guns. Remington, Henry, some S&W, Ruger, some Springfield Armoy, Kel-Tek, maybe Kimber and I think some Berettas MAY be made here. They have that Neos somethingsomething .22 pistol line.

Both Senators Obama and Clinton voted for this. I am very sure this was not a "Republican" rebate.

LOL! You really know how to crap all over our parade!!icon_biggrin.gif

Ok, ok, we all know it's ridiculous for our government, which is over 9 TRILLION dollars in debt, and keeps spending more than it takes in year after year after year, with the currency having lost over half it's value against those of other industrialized nations, with an overextended military and crumbling infrastructure, to just start handing out checks!

But if you look at it like that, you'll NEVER have any fun!!!! Eat, drink and be merry, my friend!
