Okay so soon I will be a college freshman and...I dont know where to start meeting guys. Obviously no one knows of my orientation yet. I am joining Pride Alliance and doing the things i love to do like play soccer and sing in chorus. There are no frats on my campus so thats not an option. Whats the best way to meet other gay or bisexual guys in college?

The Pride groups in schools are always full of awkward closet gays and over-achieving douchebag gays.

OkCupid and PlentyOfFish are two websites that at least in my area are popular among the younger gay crowd. On PlentyOfFish I met at least a couple of guys who not only went to my school, but lived in residence as well.

Yes but it's still a possible outlet and also a place to aid in the struggle for gay rights which I feel is important.

Why don’t you try and be the first to create a frat in your Campus? Then, you can share your experience here!

Maybe it has something to do with "dropping" college with a 3.86 GPA? icon_wink.gif

My campus bans alcohol entirely so I don't think frats are allowed it's a liberal arts college.

You do not have to drink alcohol. Just create a group and focus it in sports or whatever other activity! Take a look on the web to get some ideas!

It doesn't matter what the reason is, you're a douchebag.

Yes, any kind and it is only up to your creativity!. Some of my students belong to gay organizations in either College or University and they share this to me. The idea of creating a gay rights organization will be great too. Any kind, just be open, with a web page and everything.

i dont drink so thats not a problem. nevertheless, that wont stop ppl from ragingicon_twisted.gif I'm kinda disappointed though that there are no frats i hear you can form life-long friendships in those groups. The college itself is pretty good thats why im going. Alot of ppl who go there like the college, and teachers are willing to help those with difficulty rather than treating us like numbers. There are 5,000+ ppl on campus, at least 50% being girls but from what ive seen in my freshman class at orientation there are still lots of guys. I know its not ideal but its also not terribly expensive or terribly difficult to stay in. And it's kinda close by where i live making trips home and back easy.

This could not be anymore spot on lol. I went to a few meetings of my University's gay alliance group, and these were exactly the kind of people I met. I looked elsewhere online :p

I have OKcupid already im gonna try meeting more guys around the area. Its not a big city so there wont be gay youth groups around the area or anything like that. We are close to UConn which has a ton of gays but im not allowed to have a car on campus as a freshman so id have to get a ride from someone.

Adam4Adam hasnt worked for me for the most part I just meet guys who wanna hookup. OKcupid is alright though I meet mostly guys there who wanna start out being friends and I'm good with that.

i gotta say this because it's irritating. the word is fraternity, not frat. as we greeks say, you wouldn't call your country a cunt so don't call us a frat. second, if you think a fraternity is the place to meet gay guys, you need to rethink your plans. that's not to say fraternities don't have gay men in them, but one, unlike the porn, there's nothing attractive about your brothers once you spend enough time around them because they become like your real brothers. two, any time a guy even hinted he was talking to me because i was in a fraternity i ignored him.
