Lately I've been reading and seeing all sorts of sexualized adverts.
From kids in suggestive ad campaigns http://jezebel.com/5831607/french-brand-markets-lingerie-for-little-girls-with-requisite-over+sexualiz-yimages?popular=true

Sure there can be sex appeal and tongue in cheek innuendos but tell me what sort sexual adverts you find appealing which ones go a little over board.

I admit I fancy some of the more charged images but when such things start to lean into the ummmmmm and hhmmmm..... Especially in the tweens and youngsters segment I really do wonder.
What are the marketers and its parent company are trying to get at. Profit is one thing, but to cater the youth segment with similar looks...Hmmmmm

    Funny

Not Funny (may or may not be actual advert)

So I ask you all again

What sort of adverts go too far.

OH and my apologies if there aren't any enough sexy men candy posted..You guys can gladly post that...In context to the topic!!icon_lol.gif

I think sexually suggestive ads are funny to me, but when it involves animals or children is when it gets disturbing and offensive.
I dont care how pretty she is, an underage model should Not be doing suggestive ads. There has to be a line drawn.

I find it ironic that underage female models in suggestive poses is socially accepted; but two adult men in a suggestive pose is frowned on.

Sex doesn't sell to all segments though. According to loads of research that has been carried out in this field, sex generally sells to men. They generally evaluate ads that contain some sort of sex more positively than ads that don't. Women on the other hand don't care for sex in ads, but they don't mind it if it makes sense in a relational context, which means that if the ad implies a man and a woman having a relationship and therefore are somewhat sexually engaged than they are ok with it.

I personally am against it, primarily because of my believes of what is acceptable and what not. But from a research perspective, all these ads, especially the sexual ones with all the extremely attractive and photoshopped people make women, and increasingly men too, rather insecure and that leads to all the issues that we are seeing around us. I mean just look around here on RJ, and you ll see what effect all this advertising is having on us.

    But what do I know...

Abercrombie and Fitch ads always had guys showing their ass. You can't walk pass their stores without getting turned on a bit.

I don't like Dolce anymore, it was something I really loved in my last two years in high school.

Back then I loved the luxurious trashy look, but now I love simple and smooth, Dolce is neither.

I am not of a big fan of their ads, they've became too Guess, which in my opinion is dodgy.

I love this ad though: (Although I don't like the alcohol promotion in it.)

You need to pause to see the beautiful men!

Meh I just see a bunch of people posing. It doesn't strike me as artistic, and doesn't turn me on enough to be porn. I'd rather they just put a white page with their product on it with 3 bullet points saying why their product would be a good choice for me.

All stuff sexualizing kids is in poor taste to me in any media. I don't have a problem with pedophiles and all the stuff they fantasize about, but you can see kids turning into sluts younger and younger now and it's just sad. It's like when teenagers start drinking and act over-the-top to show how drunk they are because they think people will admire them for it. icon_rolleyes.gif
