I don't know if I can use the word traitor...

But it seems silly in the 21st century given the progress we have made thus far to vote for a candidate who wants to treat them as second class citizens.

If these people keep winning elections, how will they ever learn the tide has changed unless it impacts them.

Of course they are. Especially considering how more and more anti-gay these Conservatives get. Now 3 of the top Republican nominees are vowed to "investigate" the LGBT community. God only knows what that means!

May I rephrase this to 'Gay Republicans' rather than Conservatives?

I think that Republicans, straight or gay, have proven themselves willing to betray their own best interest in the name of partisanship.

Since 2008, BEFORE Obama took office, our country has been facing economic crisis.

If there was ever a time when patriotic Americans would want to work together, it was in those early days of Obama's administration.

But No. In fact "HELL NO" according to John Boehner.

Republicans set into place their plan to destroy the administration and the economy by which it would be judged.........for their partisan gain.

But how do we describe people who would not only destroy their "political enemies" but themselves at the same time?

    I'll go with DUMB TRAITORS.

The same applies to Gay Republicans. Yet perhaps they are even dumber. They actually believe that by chanting "Queers for Tax Cuts". the evangelical haters are going to suddenly embrace them. Unlikely. But they can pray.

No, Gay conservatives are not traitors. Liberals are just closed-minded and can't accept that not everyone thinks like them.

Gay conservatives are not hard to find here in Texas. Living in Houston I am surrounded by closed-minded conservatives (Some are even gay). I was raised amoungst conservative intolerance so at an early age I equated it with being intolerant. Until I went to places like NY and LA I hadn't seen many examples of liberal intolerance. To imply it is exclusive to liberal ideaology only pushes the divide wider.

No gay conservatives are not traitors to the gay community. Being conservative means much more than just anti gay rights and you can chose to be conservative and still support gay rights.

Why do gay conservatives vote Repub?
The Repubs are certainly not more fiscally responsible than the Dems.
In fact, the Repub party has been much more fiscally irresponsible than the Dems.

The Repubs spent the last 30 years saying that "deficits don't matter" and blowing up the National Debt.
Reagan grew the government and more than tripled the National Debt.
Bush Sr. added 1.5 trillion to the National Debt and Bush Jr. added 5 trillion to the National Debt.
All told Repub presidents have added 3 trillion dollars more to the National Debt than Dem presidents have.

The last Repub president to balance a budget was Eisnhower in 1957.
The last Democratic president to balance a budget was Clinton in his last years as president at the end of the 1990's.

Clinton presided over the longest strongest economic expansion in US history, and created 23 million jobs.
Bush gave us the Bush recession (the worst recession in 70 years) and only created 3 million jobs.

Every recession for the last 30 years has hit when there's been a REPUB president in the White House.

The idea that the Repubs are more fiscally responsible than the Dems is laughable bullshit.

So why do gay conservatives vote Repub?
Do they support the anti-gay social agenda of the religious right?
Do they support the failed Bush foriegn policy Doctrine of invading countries and asking questions later (after spending a trillion dollars of taxpayer $$$$$$ and getting thousands of US troops killed)?

What issue is it that gets gay conservatives to vote Repub?

    No.
Gay conservatives probably don't consider themselves part of the gay community, and would mostly associate with other gay conservatives. In their thinking they vote along with their community. The gays that aren't conservatives don't matter.

ARE GAY CONSERVATIVES TRAITORS TO THE GAY COMMUNITY?

Yes. Insofar as they blindly support candidates who are avowedly anti-gay.

I agree with this. I know gay conservatives.
I feel that the traitors are those who do not support gay rights. I know some of those folks too. Unfortunatley there are not too many conservative politicians that give a damn about gay rights.

No Not at all, when I vote I put my country first and not my dick. Now one having had stood by the gay and bi communities during the gay plauge era, when so many homosexual and bisexual did fuck all, other than to run and hid, Gay and Bis abandoned the gay community, hiding under mom's dress, and their bed, or their wives. Just when we needed them the most. The Gay community of America was so devastated thew the gay plauge, that the running of it for a time had to be handed over the the girls/dykes. because the fit and able homosexual, and our half brothers the bisexual did nothing to help us. NO they went running and hiding like big girls; but not I; oh no I stopped steed fast by the gay community when all those tractors did not; oh but the Band Played On.

So lets just take a moment in our dark history to see who are the real; Traitors of the gay community, and it's not the conservatives.icon_wink.gif Oh and when they did come back out and play, those who found out they had been infected by the HIV Virus, once we could have blood tests, just went on their marry way infecting other, because they did not want to deprive their dick of the sexual party, no they gave other a slow humiliating death with it.

Are they any better than today? Those who vote with their dick, and put people like Obama in power, in a hope he will feed their dick; tusk, tusk, tusk on them all; they are the real traitors!

Please lets not over look all of your many years of being anti gay, and you are a democrat. Were where you when we needed you the most during the gay plague eara of the 1980s, and 90s. Were where you when we needed you most? Oh no you had to wait for gays like me to make it safe for wimps like you, to come out. Oh and bisexual does not = gay either cupcake. Not that one is saying anything is wrong with bisexual, it's just not gay like you.........

So that's most of the American population right? I mean how many Americans won't vote for a non-christrian? How many wouldn't vote for a non-straight non-white female?

OMG like we all have to march to some preconceived notion when we are SSA- same sex active/ attracted.... I'm Bi and a conservative and it is idiots like you that disgust the vast majority of people. This is 2011 and you expect people to accept your sexuality yet you want to accuse GOP'ers as traitors? You are probably the definition of hypocritical.

No, gay conservatives are not traitors to the GLBT community. Instead they offer a different and acceptable ideology for the GLBT community. Not all gays are tax and spend and pro big government. There are many gays like myself that prefer less government regulation and intrusion with all government bureaucracies reduced in size and business encouraged to invest which would help create jobs. But unfortunately, some of the more liberal members on here would much rather turn America into a high taxed, socialist country where everything is tightly regulated and everyone is expected to tow the extreme liberal line. I say wrong answer.

REALLY.... So those of us working behind the scenes as Republican Nat'l Committee persons working to change any possible unfairness are traitors??? You know not of what you profess to preach about. It is better to work w/in any system for change than to stand outside throwing stones, and a takes a hellava more courage than the thread poster could ever dream of.

No America is not better off under Obama's hope and change. The US is still deep in debt and both the democrats and the republicans are responsible for the fiscal crisis.

No.But why would anyone gay vote for such vehemently anti-gay candidates?Equality before the law is a benchmark of any democracy.
