Has anybody been to Ibiza? Is it worth it? I'm not really into hard-core drugged out partying, but I am enchanted by the pictures of the beaches. Is it worth it if I'm just going to "relax" and enjoy the beaches? The eco-tourism aspect? Surely, somebody has gone.

Also, if there are any hot spaniards who'd love to do, i mean meet me. Then, please feel free to say hi icon_razz.gif

You're better off going October or later, if you want to avoid the hard-core partying and clubbing scene. Most of the clubs close end of Sept or beginning of Oct with massive closing parties.

Or you could go to Formentera, its more peaceful neighboring island.

YOu should go there either way while you're in Ibiza, its a short ferry-ride... make it a day-trip or two

I went to Ibiza last summer. It is STRAIGHT!!!

We did go to one of the drugged out nightclubs (I ain't skipping Paul van Dyk!) and it was worth it just to see what all the fuss is about. FYI: Bottled water there was like 20 euros!

I thought Ibiza was just about the nightlife, but honestly I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the beaches too. They're really nice. Some of them are difficult to climb down to, so once you get there it feels really exclusive.

    I say go!

I was trying to decide between Ibiza or another ballearic island while I was in Madrid. And went with the latter since it was a cheaper flight than Ibiza.

If you want a lively yet very culture driven experience, you should check out Mallorca in November. Stayed at a very cheap hostel called "Apuntadores" in Palma. Plenty of museums, palaces, churches and forts to visit during the day (might I add that most of them are free of charge or cheap to enter). Nightlife near the hostel was lively with the close range of cafe, restaurants, and clubs.

Also, rode a rickety train to the mountains to go on a hike within the Deia region and Port de Soller. <-- you can find your picturesque vistas and ports here. If your a fan of cliffs and bluffs .. hikes in this region are near death experiences. I didn't see any beaches here, but pretty sure you can lay out in the sun on top of a cliff. You might also see a few scuba divers enjoying a snorkle at the base of the cliff.

Hope that helps you plan your itinerary. ¬°buena suerte!

Ibiza is amazing! I went there some years ago and I spent a beautiful week.
If you prefer relax and enjoy beaches then you should visit the north/north-east (Sant Joan). You can find the 'eco-tourism' there and it's pretty nice. There's also a beautiful beach called Cala Portinax.. don't miss it! icon_wink.gif
Remember that Eivissa and Sant Antoni are the center of parties and nightlife and there are the most important clubs.
Anyway I advice you to visit the center at Puerto at 7 or 8pm.. there are a lot of shops, bars and street markets and it's very nice!

In my opinion, the only reason to go to Ibiza is for the clubs. If you want natural beauty, nearby Mallorca is much more beautiful. Ibiza is fun if you want to party, though. One of the most fun in the world.

The whole of Spain is a celebration every day - amazing people, culture, street life...the place goes non-stop...

Depending on what you are looking for I would give gay so- called hot spots a wide berth - they are like any other place on the planet-

From the Parisian feel of Barcelona to the excitement of Madrid to the exotica of Granada - experience as much as possible - you will come home with a totally new understanding of what life's possibilities are - have fun

    Ibiza is lots of fun
There are lots of gay bars and clubs in town
Be warned .... If you go to one of the Ibiza super clubs
They tend to rip you off
The entrance fees are huge and you have to check EVERYTHING you bring with you
The gay bars are mainly in the old city and get a mixed clientele of locals and tourists ...... VERY friendly in my experience icon_cool.gif
