Cut out soda, even diet soda. Drink green tea (straight no additives).

I'm cutting back myself and eating more frequent smaller meals. I commend the OP and RSportsguy! Keep up the great work! icon_smile.gif

Congratulations! Keep doing what you're doing. If you plateau, hire the services of a personal trainer and/or a nutritionist if you can afford it.

If you work in cold showers, you can add some extra weight loss over time. This article talks about some of the studies around it: http://www.livestrong.com/article/154168-how-to-lose-weight-with-cold-showers/

Also, make sure you don't skip breakfast. It's also a small piece of weight loss, but missing breakfast nudges people toward gaining weight throughout a year.

A good friend has had a lot of success with just replacing some of the food in his meals with avacados. They're a fattier fruit that can leave you feeling fuller than other foods. Nuts are similar as good snacks. They have a larger fat cost than other foods, but they leave you more satisfied.

If you're interested in doing something drastic, check out Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. It's a documentary about fasting through juicing. Some really amazing results on there and it got me to at least add a lot more vegetables to my diet.

20lbs in one month is pretty damn good. Just keep doing what you're doing.

If I may recommend a few things:

A goal of 10lbs/month may seem great, but go for something closer to 4—5 lbs per month (roughly a pound per week).

This is more or less what I did over the course of about a year and a half, and am currently 175lbs (down from 238lbs all-time-high).

UNSWEETENED Green Tea is good, but don't over do that either, as caffeine in large amounts can also blunt your efforts.

Look for Barley Tea (mugi - pronounced "moo-ghee" -cha) is a very healthy and tasty drink alternative with a rich earthy flavour. You can get it in bulk amounts at any Asian market and I believe at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's if you have those in your area.

Cut down on all grains, pasta, and breads; if you must have them, stick with whole wheat.

And don't skimp on breakfast - this doesn't mean you need to make a big bacon and eggs affair, but even a breakfast shake like this will do better than nothing:

    4oz skim milk
    2oz egg whites
1/2 jigger of ISOPURE Whey Protein (unflavoured and unsweetened)
    1tsp. Metamucil (makes the poops a one-sheeter - guaranteed!)
    -And-
....1tsp. NATIVAS Pure Cacao (Mayan superfood grade cacao)
....OR a small handful of fresh berries - blueberries are my favourite due to their antioxidant qualities.

Finally, look into doing a regimen of exercises involving medium to heavy lifting, especially anything that targets your legs and glutes, as the more lean muscle mass you pack on, the higher your resting metabolism goes.

And as always, check with your physician and perhaps a physical trainer before embarking on any serious exercise regimen.

Good luck and success to you in your weigt loss goals icon_smile.gif

Be patient and keep doing what you've been doing to lose the first 20 lbs.

Think of weight loss like a highway. If you go too fast, it's dangerous. If you go too slow, your injectors will clog up and cause you to stall. If you take your time and go with the flow, you will get there eventually.

    Perhaps look into intermittent fasting

I also heard that this was good for muscle development for those that eat less calories
When I'm cutting, I'll often combine the Paleo diet with intermediate fasting. It's incredibly effective.
