I collected both as a kid and was really into it. I remember making my father stop the car on trips so that I could examine and get some rocks that were on the cliffs beside the highway.

I don't collect any more, but I still enjoy looking at them when I'm hiking or walking the beach and may pick up one that is unique or special in some way.

I have a seashell collection at floor level that my mother gave me. It's displayed awesomely of course. I have some things that I'm less proud off. Two huge awesome butterflies encased in death and glass from South America, some bugs also encased but the scorpion went missing when I moved, and then a wolf pelt with head and feet intact that I picked up in northern Canada. Oh, and a snake skin hanging in my den. They all bother me. Anyone interested in buying?
