Range Day

This week I made an addition to my arsenal. I acquired a new Sig * Sauer P250 in 45 ACP. The caliber of this model Sig can be changed with the swap of the barrel and magazine.

I consider the P250 a low end gun. It is not the famous "Saturday Night Special" that explodes in the thugs hand (hopefully), but ay $399.95 it is not an expensive weapon. In visual comparison to the Glock, it is not as well finished nor delivered as blemish free. Look for pressure abrasions on yours when you purchase it.

I spent about two hours on the range at the dealer where I purchased the weapon, firing Winchester Ranger T (the old Black Talon), DoubleTap 185 gr. JHP, as well as CorBon 185 gr. JHP. The Winchester is +P+ while the CorBon is +P. I did not experience any failure-to-feed or failure-to-extract, unlike my Glock model 36 that is so susceptible to grip of the weapon while firing.

As an added benefit there was a 6’3” blond, tanned, blue stud who had just purchased a Springfield XD – a first timer he was – who needed a little coaching. Cream on the cake was he is a local boy and not a transplant.

Not to worry...he's just a pompous ass who has nothing better to do than to brag about his latest acquisitions. Probably a penniless pauper who just has visions of grandeur...

As the French say....Absolument rien de pire que de nouveaux fonds ... ils sont si bourgeoise!
Ce clown essaie trop fort pour impressionner ... alors qu'il est plus probable qu'il n'a pas de pot pour pisser dans!

I hear ya Paul. I'm a liberal that's liberal enough to look at guns differently than most gay men. My brother has a firing range at his house in the country, so being the youngest of 2 boys,, I got's to show my older brother up! Yes.. even the gays have good aim.
It always urked him that I was more a natural when it comes to target practice.

    Love the earrings, Tony.... icon_lol.gif

My dad's hobby is owning and shooting guns. I grew up with it, so I can appreciate it.

Not on like a psycho level, but on a "guns are pretty fucking cool" level. I like to call them "peace makers"

I "almost" take offense at that statement, simply due to the implied stereotype.
But then again, I was raised on a farm and had my first shotgun in 1st grade, and won my first marksman contest in 2nd grade with a .22 rifle. And I shoot a bow and arrow better WITHOUT sights. So really I don't give a fuck what the stereotype is. icon_cool.gif

I'm a crappy shot with handguns, but between my M-21 build I inherited from my dad, and my AR-15 with Trijicon ACOG scope, and a handful of other long rifles, I can do fairly well at the range.

Oh, Paul,, that statement was more about my relationship with my brother and Dad.
I grew up in a sporting family, and loved the friendly competition between the 3 guys. They love me for that man I turned out to be.
My dad always said...The only short comings we have in life are the ones we place on ourselves.
Your dad's quote is heart warming. icon_biggrin.gif

PS. Looks like Friendsrbetter has me ignored. I'm "almost" offended. icon_lol.gif

So, one guy goes out and buys a new gun and wants to talk about it. But most of the people here put him on blast, why? For most gun owners its no different than buying a new car and wanting to show it off.

Likely because in another topic he was pointed out as being a fake. He also somehow knew there were no liberals at the shooting range. I take it he has telepathy among his other *coughs* attributes, or questioned everyone who showed up at the range that day.

I strongly disapprove of referring to an allegation in another thread and passing that allegation off as fact.

lol, and I strongly disapprove of making blanket statements about liberals in the manner he did.

Kidding aside, I could have worded it this way; you make a good point.

' Likely because in another topic it was suggested he was fake and he didn't counter it.'

Once I leave the Service (very soon), I will be happy if I never see another range.
