I admit that design and looks are very important for me when I look at a car.

There are a couple of Dodge's on the market right now where no gay man could have been involved in the development.

    Dodge Nitro

    Dodge Caliber

To call these cars butt-ugly would be an insult to all butts.

That was a really shitty article. The style of writing was more appropriate for Perez Hilton's site, not for a car site. And the data gathering is somewhat questionable.

The quantitative findings from research firm Strategic Vision, currently exclusive to Jalopnik, demonstrate that vehicles that appeal to a subset of trendsetting consumers that they label "Innovators" — overrepresented in the LGBT community — have a much higher likelihood of eventually becoming hits in the larger population.

It's way too presumptuous to think that a particular car will become popular just because gays tend to buy them. So yeah, yet another reason why Gawker sites suck.

i agree. i rolled my eyes from the first few words.

but i appreciate the OP bringing it up. if money wasn't a factor, i'd have a BMW X3 - that is cool and sexy and kinda gay in a good way. If reliability wasn't a factor i'd get a jetta. ;) But we have a hyundai tucson, which we think is plenty gay enough -- handles well, drives like a car, has room, great mileage and really luxurious for a sub-$25K CUV.

    Me.

When I lived in Cleveland, I used to think it was so funny how the tasteless suburban breeders would come to the bars at the warehouse district downtown every weekend with their rented Hummers trying to impress the dick-breathed useless vagina carriers. The only thing worse than their wasteful rented rides was the rest of the ghetto Clevelanders who owned Hummers but not houses.

    I like:
    1- BMW 1281 (coupe)
2- Honda CR-Z (I did not get it because the exhaust system is cheap, hidden and it did not match the prototype car)
3- I finally got the Honda Accord Coupe V6, 2011 because it gave me more for the price

How in the hell did a Kia make the number one spot? It's not a bad looking car, but really? It's a Kia for Christ sake. icon_question.gificon_question.gif

The Porsche Cayenne and the new Ford Focus Electric are my two favorites - go figure because I can't explain why other than design is a huge factor.

    Fuck stereotypes indeed.

Been driving Saabs for years and *hopefully* will continue to do so.

Also into old Citroens, Alfa, Lancia etc.

But am a general motor head, so any well made machine will get me excited.

    The Nissan Juke?! Really?

And the Nitro? I'm sorry, but no gay or straight person with taste would dare driving one of these off the lot.

Not compensating. I've wanted one since they first came out (the original Humvee)...and before I ever knew there were stereotypes for gays.
