    Hey all,

I'm starting to prepare for the Coventry Half Marathon (I think you USA RJs should jump on a plane and come over and give this one a go! Its all uphill!!).

Ok : I've been hitting 1 hour 36 as a PB. I'm thinking about pushing myself to get a faster time and my friend suggested doing a few of the hours at "Race speed" and obtain 7 minutes a mile (if this isn't the right term forgive me).

3 miles of around 8 are now spent running very fast (this is not easy to me) and i'm still getting the bokes (if anyone's followed my previous threads about making sick noises they'd understand).

If I ever get used to this do I generally increase the race speed amounts - up to 4 miles

Does anyone else do this kind of training?

I try to do progression runs often as I can. I would like to try a few of race pace (6 minute miles and under), but for me it would be more like mile repeats.
