Sober is facing life on life's terms. No hiding. No numbing. No copping out.

    Sober means keeping it real.

When I sober up, I realize my life is horrible, just stay drunk so everything stays fuzzy and fun.

Mt life doesn't suck really, just sounds funny

If there's a hole in your life, fill it with something else. icon_wink.gif

What's the use of getting drunk again when it ruins the chance of remaining victoriously sober?

Let me put it to you this way, OT...
My life before I got sober was awful. Bad when drinking, worse when not.... when you get sick and tired of living like that, you'll do anything (and I mean ANYTHING) to never have to take another drink again.

Addicts/alcoholics eventually always get sober by one of two ways 1) It kills them 2) they change everything because the desire to not use again is strong.

Periods of not drinking in between periods of drinking does not equal being sober. That period of time just means you haven't had a drink; not that you are sober.

You have to give you body a chance to rest and recuperate before the next wave of alcohol.

You need balance: drunk. sober. drunk. sober. drunk. sober. 3 drunks plus 3 sobers equals BALANCED!
