I came across this story and just felt disgusted. A judge orders a gay married man to keep his kids away from his husband.

    http://www.lgbtqnation.com/2011/08/houston-judge-orders-married-gay-man-to-keep-kids-away-from-husband/

    This is unacceptable and unjustifiable!

This is pretty fucked up but it wont hold out, not even in Texas. But yes, the fucked up factor is strong in this one...

I agree. I dont understand how the judge didnt think he was discriminating. It's pretty messed up.

If I were him, I'd leave the kids with the husband and dare the courts to do anything about it..and fight whatever action is taken all the way to the Supreme Court.

Hopefully the judge will get fired for doing it, then again it is Texas.

I love how in the article the Attorney that got the charges places said it was very common, talk to this bitch. The bitch they talked to said I have no idea whats going on, talk to this whore instead. Then that whore said "This is entirely unreasonable, and is discriminatory" yea, that lawyer looked like a dumb slut LOL!

Paul- If he were to do that he would be either fined or jailed and would not get to see his children and nobody wins. The proper thing to do is get it over-turned. Kids should never be used as pawns in an adult fight no matter how STUPID!

So now judges can just order you to do whatever they want? How long until we are court ordered to undergo "therapy"

That is pathetic and to think it happened in a city with an openly lesbian mayor. This is bullshit.

The good thing is that none of the family law attorneys agree with the decision the judge came up with. If the guy is smart, he will battle this one out. Seems he has a lot of force backing him up

Nothing but a show of hatred from this judge. No record of abuse of any kind from any of the parties and he gets singled out and told that while with him, the children aren't to be with anyone that isn't related by "blood or adoption." A slap in the mans face, and a chilling precedent.

because you dont know the details of the case or anyone involved and you are making assumptions about it from a website that is already biased to your opinion. if you feel strongly enough to call a judge then maybe you should do a little more research...like any research at all.

http://blog.chron.com/partisangridlock/2011/08/houston-judge-limits-rights-of-gay-father/Instead, Broussard suggested that Teresa Waldrop, who is board certified in family law and a member the of the Family Law sections of the State Bar of Texas and Houston Bar Association, would be likely to provide specific examples. In an interview, Waldrop noted that while morality clauses are fairly common, she had never seen an injunction like this one.

Waldrop suggested that Austin family law attorney Jennifer Cochran might have greater insight. After being read the injunction, Cochran said that not only had she never seen such an order, the provision is “just not reasonable.” The fact that William can’t leave the children alone with any man to whom they aren’t related by blood or adoption “strikes at the very heart of the fact that he’s gay…it’s judicial activism, legislating from the bench,” and has nothing to do with protecting the best interests of the children, said Cochran.

    What about a male babysitter?

If the case involved two lesbians, would the judge have ruled that one of them can't leave the children alone with any woman to whom they aren't related by blood or adoption?

how is this the houston chronicle reporting when they wont even claim responsibility for the content of the BLOG? isnt that a little like pulling an article from the opinion section of a newspaper and then stating it was published by the youareahugedouchebag times?

ha you did that? please let me know all about your research. this dude has a radio show..i mean you are encouraging people to call a judge and say what? do you think the judge is some bumbling redneck that is so overwhelmed by a bunch of gay guys who saw something on a gay fitness website that he is going to rescind the judgment?
these things happen all the time in divorce rulings. i mean single dads get fucked more than anyone. cant collect or get housing...its all too common especially if his ex has a good lawyer. a shitty ruling against a divorced father in a custody case is not a precedent.

Both Teresa Waldrop and Jennifer Cochran have linked to this article on their Twitter account, confirming that they were indeed interviewed for this article.

If you want to be ad hominem, why do you address the fact that this associate judge was appointed by a conservative judge, not elected?
