Okay, this is something I thought was rather amusing. I was reading on CNN and one of the "from around the web" stories at the bottom noted that there were "3 Things You Need to Know About 7-Eleven Slurpees". Mind you, this intrigued me because I'd never in a million years eat one of those sugar filled cesspools in a cup but they have what I think is a rather shocking/hilarious flub up on their news post:

    1. Consider your Slurpee a summer indulgence, not just another drink. In an average 11-oz slurpee (the size 7-Eleven is giving away on July 11th), depending on flavor, you'll get around 175 calories, 48 grams of carbohydrates (more than the average person should be consuming in a day) and a boatload of harmful chemicals. (Have you ever seen an electric blue fruit at the farmer's market?)

So 48g of carbs is more than we should be consuming in a day? Huh, interesting. I wasn't aware I was supposed to be on an Atkins diet daily. Granted, they are referring to carbs of the sugary and evil kind and not the good stuff.

If you carb cycle, it's not an issue. Slurp all ya want. They'll make more. icon_biggrin.gif

Um....48 grams of carbs is NOTHING. That's a low-carb diet.
Why is the media promoting the low-carb diet now? Who are they to say that we should be consuming less than 48 grams.?

175 calories is nothing o_O Especially for an "indulgence". Fuck I mean 2 slices of wheat toast have about 200 calories.
