Two press releases from ANA (All Nippon Airways) announcing the first true international and domestic 787 service from Tokyo (Haneda and Narita). A particularly exciting development is the launching of the first intercontinental 787 service from Tokyo (Haneda) to Frankfurt beginning in January 2012.

southbeach1500 saidI'm still a bit uncertain as to what routes AA will deploy them on (pending a new pilot's contract).

Are we going to see them as replacements to the 767-300s or will they open up new "long and thin" routes like MIA-NRT?

Personally, I see the 787's, from AA at least, as replacements for the 767's and as the ideal plane to open up new 'long and thin' routes like MIA-NRT and, starting in March/April 2012, BOS-NRT.
