Now that I'm finally developing some pecs and shoulders are filling in, I've been redoing my wardrobe. I find v-necks are flattering, catching on and accentuating the pecs, in a way framing them with the V. Nordstrom has a great shirt, Alternative's Moroccan henley, that works well with my lean frame. I also find my jeans are fitting differently. With deadlifting and squatting, I find my waist is still small but my thighs and butt fill the pant legs more than ever before.

Anybody care to share their favorite shirts and pants? Be specific if possiblble.

I recently started wearing clothes from Hollister and love them. (And, no, you're never too old to wear a brand.) They're built well, their colors are vibrant and fun, and their cuts are very flattering. Since you're slim, look for their "surfer cut" shirts, which are brutally cut, but really look good if you've got the midsection for them. And yes, at full price they're way too expensive, but keep your eye out for their sales; you can usually get really good deals, particularly on their end-of-season "redlines."

Thanks for the Hollister tip. I dig Hollister and Diesel and Emporio Armani.

Would love other suggestions, especially from fellow ectomorphs.

I've always had the "skinny waist, bit things/booty" situation myself and find Boot cut to be the best fitting cut for jeans. True Religion and 7 for all mankind are the best fitting jeans personally, but Rock & Republic works nicely as well.

I also got myself a ridiculous pair of Ruff Skin jeans this past spring and fucking LOVE them - as slutty as they may be. They're the bright blue pair I have on in one of my photos. Definitely my fun party pants, but still very comfortable, have a bit of stretch so you can get down and shake a tail feather on the dance floor too!

These are amongst the most FEMMY candy-arse looking garments for muscle-marys.

Unless that is the look you're going for (likely popular in the yuppie twenty-somethings gay bars- so it may be) I'd say:

    tumblr_lnmxs32ryy1qi1i50.gif

Go to a department store and ask a personal shopper re clothes and colours that compliment you assets. In fact, I need a new wardrobe, so am looking forward to doing this myself.

You don't have to like the "Femmy" ( and tho I am not, I am assuming it was meant to be condescending. Cause I take it in your view that is the worst thing ever a man could be.) Tee shirt, but it is their top seller, with just as many if not more straight guys wearing them as well.

And to add: a guy with a really nice chest and some fur looks great in a deep v neck T.

    Ectomorphs unite!

I actually prefer the GAP deep V neck to the American Apparel one as it is a bit more masculine. I just bought 3 on sale.

As far as dress shirts, I really like Boss slim fit (reasonable) and some of the Armani slim fit (price a little high). I love Scotch & Soda stuff for relaxed wear.

Diesel has the best fitting jeans but I concur on Trues and 7's. I have several pairs of all three brands (yes, I have a denim addiction). Also my Uniqlo jeans are pretty great and they were the cheap ones.

What your need to keep an eye out are 'tailored fit' and 'slim fit' apparel

These are usually found in European styled apparel.

I suggest Zaras and Next branded items as they enhance the form by playing up your shoulders and taper by the sides to give you a slim v cut.

Btw i actually don't recommend a plunging V necks because in my opinion, you're not in competition with the females in terms of cleavage.icon_lol.gif

If you want a v cut then take shirts that have v collar point hit at top most point of the pecs . It'll give a better definition than plunging V. Also it can help to hide any unwanted skin blemish should a skin irritation occur.

TBH I think the my Diesels which are supposed to be thigh roomy / waist tight are hella tight round the thighs and I use a belt with them. But my butt and package look really nice.

For v-necks I have a thing for the Threadless ones:

But true, they don't show off much. Go nekkid!

Don't attempt to put words in my mouth. Looking fem clearly isn't the worst thing a man can be, or necessarily a bad thing. It is however a niche. Niches tend to divide opinion quite drastically. It is my opinion that that particular design, where the v plunges to the sternum, is a bad one on men. Unless one is aiming for a relatively FEM look, that deep man-cleavage plunge t-shirt design, whether worn by gays or straights, is a FAIL.

Condescending? Probably about as condescending as anybody expressing dislike for any other type of clothing. Deal with it.

    :]

American Apparel and H&M both sell very well fitted clothing. I'm currently replacing my old Abercrombie collection with these two more "adult" brands.

"Candy-arse," "Muscle Marys," and "FEMMY" (in all caps) are definitely condescending. No way around that, Sage. Like it or not, he wasn't putting words in your mouth.
