Cutting and muscle loss

    I am coming to the end of my first bulking cycle, and now starting to think about cutting. Losing fat hasn't been a problem for me in the past, but putting on muscle mass is hard for me (the first time I've managed to put on a decent amount at all is over the past few months).

    Does anyone know any strategies for doing so? I'm considering supplementing with glutamine and BCAAs before doing cardio and such. What sort of protein intake relative to body mass is ideal? 1 gram / lb?
    What about calorie deficits? My current thought is about 500/day, but I'm afraid of going too high.

    Anyone have any advice on this?

    I flip flop between cutting and bulking every 2-4 weeks. That helps keep a lean look while slowly gaining size. Gotta be patient doing it that way, though...definitely not suitable for competitive physique work.

    For cutting, I cut out salt more than anything, because the water weight hides definition faster than fat. I also cut out carbs almost completely...take in just enough to be healthy and focus, because my job demands it.

    Honestly I'd say your build looks average not muscular-you should add more cardio firsticon_idea.gif
