Due to a stroke of good luck, I'm going to be in beautiful Vancouver for most of September. Just wondering if anyone has tips for what to do in such a great city?

Looking for bars, restaurants, and just general sightseeing.

If you make it here before the 5th, you can check out the PNE.

    FOOD!!!

    That is all

    No really, that is all...

For the rest of it, go to Victoria, Whistler, and the surrounding area, BC is gorgeous

And o yeah, if you can handle brackish water, brown sand and mucky cold river water, there's always Wreck beach! big hit with the locals! hot nudity and sex! lol

Finally I would check out aboriginal art.. thats some of the most beautiful Ive seen in North america

I love, love love Vancouver. It is my favorite city in the world!!

The bike ride through Stanley park is surprisingly cool and you can hang out on the beach and it is completely chill. So much sushi, wonderful beautiful people... love it!

I just left two weeks ago, but have tons of tips for food if you want to know where to go. The selection, quality and value is actually excellent compared to other cities I've been to.

Assuming you mean Vancouver, BC in Canada and not the one in the states.

It all depends on what you like to see/do/experience.

    Here are some sites:

    http://www.tourismvancouver.com/visitors/
    *Official tourism site

    http://www.vancouver-bc.com/events
    *Info for organized events

    http://www.straight.com/timeout/search/events/
*Local "social event" weekly newspaper (hardcopies can be found everywhere in the DT area)

    http://www.foodvancouver.com/
*Pretty good general listing of restaurants with relative infos, though use http://dinehere.ca/ to check for reviews

If you got time for tours/road trips:

    - Highly recommend venturing through the Rockies (Lake Louise, Banff, Jasper, etc)
    - Whistler Resort
    - Vancouver Island (Victoria - Picturesque city; Tofino - Beach & Surfing; Port Hardy - Fishing & sometimes you see wild killer whales simply swiming through the striaght)
    - Okanagan (fresh fruits & wineries)

If you don't know already, Davie Street in the DT core is the gay area (mainly between Burrard Street & Jervis Street)

    Have a great time exploring!

This is a great city. Thanks for all the suggestions. Haven't made it up to the clubs on Davie Street since I'd have to go solo.

And boy, you couldn't have asked for nicer weather! icon_lol.gif It's certainly not the 100 degree weather you were escaping, but this stretch has been wonderful.

No kidding. The weather has been unbelievable. I think it's finally going to cool down a little bit.
