Christians can be funny and mean-spirited at the same time, and this article is no exception. Apparently, if your husband suddenly shows an interest in lubricants and Golden Girls, he's gay. If he takes his shirt off to mow the lawn, he's gay. You've got to read this...

That article is messed. But DON'T turn this thread into a Christian bashing thread. There are plenty of great Christians that aren't full of shit like that article.

    Edit: @below

    Okay, good.

I think those kind of articles are funny.. I mean, you never hear of articles observing the flipside. You never hear of "I think my wife might be a lesbian?" and I'm sure it happens just as much.

I'm newer here (haven't done my 'newbie' intro thread yet icon_wink.gif ) but I'm someone who likes to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and likes to view perspectives on both sides of the coin. In my life, it has been both a good quality and a bad quality to have, but thats just me..

Oh shit. And I'm usually not taken in by dry humor. icon_lol.gif Well, I'm kind of relieved to know it's not real. Christians scare me enough already! icon_lol.gif

For some reason, Americans are notorious for not getting satire. Maybe it's a cultural thing. I think we take things too seriously a lot of times. I read once that there is a large number of people in the U.S. who think Stephen Colbert really is a Conservative. It's kind of amazing.

Okay, now you're making me feel like an idiot. I normally get satire. Hell, most things that come out of my mouth are satiric. I don't see how anyone could think Colbert is for real, or the Onion. But you have to admit, Christians can be so fearful and illogical that the article I posted could have totally been real! icon_smile.gif

I'm sorry. Wasn't trying to make you feel like an idiot! I don't think it's an intelligence thing. I think it's a cultural thing. I think we just take things too seriously in our culture and are kind of knee-jerk in our reactions. I think satire works better in other cultures like in England.

    I agree with scruffypup
This is what Christian fundimentalists think and a few of their theories are true. I have met many men over the years who lived that life. Overall it is a load of crap that they are feeding people, based on those rules there are only a few things that make me gay. I look good in a speedo. Otherwise I am straight.

I love this question it poses for ladies:

...you should ask yourself whether you’re honestly looking for a man or just a shopping companion.
