I'm shedding. Not weight (I wish!)

    *TMI warning*

I'm a hairy/furry guy. Ever catch a glimpse of Robin Williams? Like that.
I seem to be loosing my winter coat. Ugh, keeps clogging up the shower drain. I take off my white T-shirt and it's all stuck inside.
Frankly, if I had the money I'd laser off the back hair, but I'd keep all the chest hair!
I feel like Austin Powers sometime. "Grr, baby, very ggrr!"

Never heard of such a thing. The only time I lost body hair was when I was taking protease inhibitors for HIV. That is one of the side effects, loss of body hair. As soon as I switched drugs the hair came back (and then some).

The older you get, the hairier you should get! You may want to check with your doctor.

There's normally a small amount of hair that comes out wiht every shower. Seems like this week it's two or three times as much; draino down the tub has been a 1x a week for the alst 3 weeks instead of a once a month kinda thing.

I figure hey, my cat sheds copiously in the spring/fall, so why not me?

Cuz humans dont fur up and down with the seasons. It might be something serious. I would say check it out if it continues.

Do you generally do vigourous activities that cause your t-shirt to rub against your back a lot?
Used to have a bald patch above my knees from denim shots.

If your molting like a llama I would get it checked out. Will you? No. lol

I hate doctors, too. Got a BB imbedded in my finger bone and my family doctor let a student in my finger with tweezers! SOB strummed a nerve or something, felt it up to my elbow.

Well - sleeping. I toss and turn a lot.
And running; get a cotton shirt damp with sweat and it seems to pull some hair out!

Gentlemen, thanks for the concern; I don't feel it's worth going to the DR over. It's not falling out in clumps, there aren't bald patches, it's just a little gross to look in the tub!

Gosh, I thought someone was talking about me again for a second.

Speaking of hairballs...why is it that cats only seem to leave gooey, gooshy hairballs in exactly the spot you first set your bare foot down when you get out of bed to get a glass of water in the middle of the night? icon_mad.gif

G_rocco -- what about dietary considerations? Anything changed lately? Maybe a vitamin/mineral deficiency?

Well at least cats don't poop in the middle of the night right beside your bed. Or, get sprayed by a skunk, or get porcupine needles in their nose and bleed all over the place. Ah the joys of owning a dog (s).

Ah, I should have thought of that. It's been an *incredibly* stressful two weeks. End of semester, a few relationship issues, money worries. *deep breath* Yeah, stress makes sense!

Dietary changes? Not particularly; if anything I'm eating cleaner than before; less fast food, more fruits/veggies. Perhaps I outta add a multivitamin though.

It's evolution baby... j/k ;D But don't fret, body hair isn't as bad as you think. A guy I was with had a lot, but I didn't care, I was all over the guy. He was great!

    Bailiff, whack his peepee!

I think he's just saying that while he may have been somewhat concerned, he isn't concerned enough to go to a doctor and see which flavor of pill they try to foist on him. His initial post isn't any 'omg like am I melting?! what should I do?'

If he's not concerned enough, then I dont have to be bothered with it either.

My apologies, no more posts until I get to 1,000 posts icon_biggrin.gif

Mostly I was just wondering if this sort of thing has happened to other people (apparently not) and what they made of it (it's freaky).

ACH Buckwheet! A BB in your fingerbone?! I'ma have nightmares for weeks!

dancerjack, awwww... your cat's an antichrist spawn? How absolutely adorable! ;)

G_rocco, I agree with wysiwyg. Go see a doctor, it may be a symptom of something serious.

Hair growth, nail growth, teeth growth, and irises usually document ailments as they grow. If your hair is is falling out, you really should see a doctor.

Now clear the forums, boys. Only caslon, me, obscenewish and certain other aristocrats have >1000 and thus allowed to post. God knows what flame wars will ensue. icon_twisted.gif
