I've never drank this much in my life...well, since I was in my early 20's.

If your job ever offers you a contract out-of-state in a small town where everyone is homophobic, do not accept it...regardless of how much it pays.

One hundred ninety two hours and thirty two minutes to go, then I'll be home.

Yes, I'm counting the fucking minutes. That's how fucking bored I am. icon_lol.gif

Oh yeah, and if my posts become more unintelligible and deranged-sounding over the next 8 days, just ignore them. I haven't been this fucked in the head since I lived in the sticks of Arkansas. I've been drunk every night for the last 5 days in a row. Normally I only drink 5 times a fucking year.

Awww, that sucks LOL. What city on your travel cities is it? St. Pete or Savannah GA?

I do it all the time though. I love the smaller cities, for a little while...like a couple days or so. I rather go to 5 sucky, homophobic small towns in 1 month than to stay in 1 large, big city that's really a geographically isolated small town for a whole year straight.

Maybe try craigslist or something and meet someone who actually wants to meet with another guy. Small cities are big on craigslist and you can pick up someone in a heartbeat.

I mean...look at me. I don't really like being in Denver but I've had to put up with it for 9 months. 5 more months left unless I buckle before then...

    Hinesville GA...45 minutes from Savannah.
I've already met 6 guys here (on a4a) - 4 of whom were hot - all of whom were severely closeted (I lied and told them I'm also in the closet).

Not even a remote chance of a friend here if you're out of the closet.

If I were forced to move here permanently, I'd kill myself.

I used to be 60 lbs heavier. It took over two years to gain it, and over a year to lose it.
I don't think a month of so of letting myself go will be very difficult to fix when I get back home. icon_wink.gif

I think this is what they're saying:

"If your job ever offers you a contract out-of-state in a small town where everyone is homophobic, do not accept it...regardless of how much it pays."
Pretty much. At this point my liver is saying "hey dude, most alcoholics take years to develop problems - have some fun for a couple weeks - I won't mind."

I beg to differ...I'll move just about anywhere if the money was good enough. Oh crap...I already did icon_redface.gif

I don't blame you though...Georgia is something else. I used to like it as a kid when we'd go to visit the reservations in Fitzgerald and my family in Valdosta, Macon and Atlanta.

But that place is backwards. The only gay city available is Atlanta. Everywhere else is just...God. I can't even...I mean, do you, can you... You do realize you're in the very depths of the south? That area makes Colorado seem like the promised land...

Actually that's my quote - not his.
And yeah, we all know you took the money over the sanity. There's been multiple threads about it.

This place is the armpit of the deep south. It's almost as bad as where I was raised (rural Arkansas). It WAS fun when my "straight" friend lived here, but he got a job out-of-state back in mid-July, and I've been super fucking bored ever since. Next year I'm taking the Jersey contract. At least I'll be close enough to NYC that I can have some fun on the off days.

$825 for a 2br duplex in Hollywood caters perfectly to paycheck2paycheck individuals.

PS. I have a very expensive lifestyle. If I wanted to (but I don't) I could live on half my check and still live in the same place. icon_wink.gif

LOL, I'm just being facetious. I like to pick on some of the rent prices back home occasionally. I remember my very first apartment downtown Miami was a closet with a window and a tiny fridge and microwave for $550. Luckily it was month to month and was gone within that month...

My second apartment was a bigger closet with 2 windows and slightly bigger kitchen space a bit further north than downtown Miami.

When you live in Miami, the further north you go...the further south you get. Isn't that weird LOL.

But only boring people get bored; even in a small town! I would find something to do, and too have some fun. I love small towns, and the bush, because there is always something to do.

I totally understand. I just got back from south Carolina from only one week of business. And I was so bored that ever night I drank heavily lol. It wasn't just the lack of gay friends (im have that at home too) but the lack of any friends to hang out with or talk to. Then I get back to long island just in time tor the hurricane lol. Needless to say I can't wait to get back to the gym. I am already 5 lbs heavier from my drinking and the horribly unhealthy southern food.

Fortunately the hotel manager here let me install a Perfect Pushup, and use a hot plate to cook with, so staying in shape isn't much trouble. Finding non-salty food to cook is very difficult, too, so I'm storing a little more water weight than usual.

But like you, I'm still not worried about it. Once fitness is a natural part of your life, it's easy to shape-shift back to the preferred shape. icon_biggrin.gif

PS. I ran out of alcohol around 5am this morning, and really don't want to buy anymore...mostly because it's too expensive here. In fact, everything is more expensive here. South Florida is way cheaper, probably due to supply and demand. Very few people here can afford the top shelf liquors. icon_lol.gif
