If you're at all familiar with internets lingo, you'll get it. I was trying SOOOOOO hard not to crack up. But it was like impossible. Tactless hitting on plus accidentally calling me an hero. Oh man. Lulz for days.

Sounds like you need to learn that English is not everyone's first language.
This post makes you look like an asshole.

True, but of all the grammatical mistakes a person can make... that one... the lulz were plentiful.

"an hero" is a bit of Internet slang which means to kill one's self.

Frosted, that's one for ED ... a lot of folks here won't get it and might not have been the best thing to post to keep folks who do get it from not snorting their coffee lol

Yes, but it makes sense from a German point of View... in German and Dutch, the indefinite article 'a'/'an' is 'ein' and 'een' respectively.. they do not drop the "n"'s like in english

This guy wouldn't think like that.

You are correct though. English speakers have no appreciation for someone who has 90% fluency. They will always go for the 10%. A power trip.

    This.

The OP has been so emasculated by his mother that even a compliment from a stranger is used as a weapon against them.

So back in the day there was this little kid who committed suicide and one or his friends wrote a note referring to him as "an hero" instead of "a hero". As such people on the Internet now refer to being an hero as committing suicide. That is what is funny.

Welcome to the Internet where "mature" adults can act like their 2 again.

Over the top conversations like that are odd. Is the other guy needy, trying to make points or just in their own little world.....

Wow, so you pronounce the h in hero (hee row). If that is the case, then how do you pronounce human (ooy mahn).icon_rolleyes.gif

    Interesting, but stupid.

Don't you have better things to do, other than laughing at a foreigner's English?

    Why?

Some people pronounce herb as 'erb and so say 'an herb', pronounced 'an 'erb.'

Because saying "an hero" is knowing it to be a grammatical error. Thats why "a hero" is not someone who commits suicide, but "an hero" is.

This guy just doesnt understand the internet.
