Kwokpot saidThe problem with the Atlantis cruises is the cost- over $1000/person BEFORE taxes & fees for a 7 day caribbean cruise in an inside cabin that's the CHEAPEST. These days with SO MANY cruiseships and the economy so bad, you can take THREE 1 week cruises for the price of 1 Atlantis cruise.
True...and be bored to freaking death on those other cheaper cruises surrounded by fat old people from Peoria playing cards on deck. Atlantis vacations are not cheap, but in my experience on them they have been worth every penny.
I will admit I would love to try a all gay cruise, but WILL NOT concede that straight cruises are boring. Being that my partner & I are retired, cruising has become our favorite form of traveling, and we average about 5 cruises per year.
To be quite honest, we always meet other gay men & women, and have established many friendships, including older, STRAIGHT couples.
Our next cruise at the beginning of November is a 12 nighter leaving from Istanbul and going to Israel among other ports(That cruise was discounted to a low of $799/person for an inside cabin). We are then taking a Caribbean cruise in December, which actually is a FREE one, due to my partner's play in the casinos on prior cruises on this line.
Transatlantic cruises seem to be aVERY popular with gay men. This past spring we did a transatlantic cruise on the same ship you were on last yrs Atlantis. We met many, many gay men from all around the world.
BTW, the Celebrity Equinox and her sister ships are truley the most beautiful ships at sea. I just wished the spa area was better designed; I mean the locker area was the size of a small walk in closet!
