Question for those that are muscular and below 10% body fat.

    How difficult is it to get/stay at your bf%?
    What have you given up to attain your physique?

    I am at ~12.5% and I eat grilled chicken salads without dressing, no drinking alcohol during the week, gave up sodas, no desserts, one cheat meal a week, run 20 miles a week, lift weights 4-5 times a week, etc.

    I know how much I have given up to get to where I am, I would live to know how much you have given up to get where you are.
    PS-I know you have had to give up a lot of stuff which is admirable to have your dedication and commitment.

    Actually I haven't given up on much of anything. Sometimes I'll fast from the protein shakes to cut up more...but other than that, nope.

    On a serious note...everyone is different metabolism wise. Also age plays a factor. I realize I can be careless and drink alcohol EVERY day (because I'd be bored shitless if I didn't have a drink daily), eat red meat, and run 3 miles a week. But later on I may have to straighten up.

    I'm not big on desserts though. I rather have a cocktail or a glass of wine over a piece of pie, cake or ice cream.

    Fit4FitnDenver gets at a good point... you'll get vastly different answers from different body types. The skinnier guys will say "what do you mean give up? I eat pizza and drink Yoohoo every day."

    As an endomorph, my kind has to always be cutting weight: cardio constantly, being a food nazi, etc and so forth. As a result, I play to my strengths. My body type puts on muscle very easily (I get stronger even when I'm trying to cut weight), so I focus on those things I can do well naturally and they will contribute to success in the areas I don't naturally do well in.

    As for specific help, I might look at the kinds of supplements I'm taking and the kind of diet I'm eating. A decent thermogenic can help strip away some fat (I use OxyELITE Pro right now but I cycle between others). Diet also needs variation and cycling just as much as exercise, so if you've been on the same strict diet for a long time I'd recommend having 3 different diets that you cycle between every 90 days or so the same way you would weight training.

    Getting there, the hardest part was figuring out which foods my body responds best to, and worst to. The exercise part has its own level of difficulty, but being an adrenaline junkie, I never really liked sitting idle anyway. The additional motion was welcomed into my lifestyle.

    Look for HFCS and other corn sweeteners, and cut them out of your diet. Also cut out dairy and grains.

    I never thought of it as giving up stuff. I think of it as replacing unhealthy marketing gimmicks with real food, and eating more of it. So really it's a win-win situation because I get to eat more, and I taught myself how to cook all my favorite meals with healthy ingredients instead of relying on restaurants to feed me their fattening shit for 3x the price.

    I have no idea if this is going to help you, or not... because I am NO expert at all (AT ALL)...

    But I have noticed i become much more toned and burn more fat (at least what i can visually see) when I mix up my cardio routine too...

    Running Sprints instead of distance, plyometrics, practicing my old martial arts training...

    If you're running like 20 miles a week, and have been doing so maybe you should try something different... Even doing interval sprints, and old school running stairs might change it up a little if you don't know other options?

    Just a thought? But good luck. Your diet already shows more discipline than what I can handle!

    I've said this before: I don't think of it as giving something up, I think of it as gaining something far, far more valuable.

    I'm not a bulky guy, so I'm not sure if I fit your definition of muscular, but the low body fat part: I'm a strict vegetarian, don't eat white flour, and run 30 miles a week. In terms of quantity, I eat as much as I want . . . but there's lots of stuff I just don't eat.
