Bad things about chocolate cake

One of the girls at work has had a promotion, so we bought her a chocolate cake. It is beautiful and gooey and delicious, and comes from my favourite patisserie. I have profound cake lust. Tell me all the awful things about cake that I need to be reminded of. I know having cake is bad, but when this cake looks up at me with it's big chocolatey eyes, I can't seem to remember why

I have to agree, my answer would have been "nothing" as well.

They are right. It isnt a piece of cake that will do you in...it's the whole cake. If cake isn't a regular staple in your diet, you dont have to worry. In fact, I often wonder if the stress some people put themselves under worry about the piece of cake isn't worse than the piece of cake itself.

And then I also wonder what's the hell's the use of living forever if you can't ever enjoy yourself. Give me a damn piece of chocolate ...

Actually any sweet baked good is its own food group!

mmm I actually have a lot to bake today for sunday and I can't wait to be tasting the batters and the baked stuff, it'll be so much fun, I know I'll go way over on my daily calories but I couldn't give a damn, food is to be enjoyed, not feared!

The bad thing about that chocolate cake though is its not home made!

stop bashing chocolate cake! it is heaven on earth...whether you eat just a piece (pussy!) or you eat the whole thing, like a real man.

and it's not bad for you if you boil all of the fat and carbs out. or eat it it with ice cream or a glass of milk. Studies have shown that the lactose in ice cream and milk halt the carb/fat absorbtion process in the stomach and so you never even digest those calories!

EAT THE CAKE! EAT THE CAKE!

(throw the pie away.)

Sorry I can't be serious about problems with chocolate cake. Just be sure to lick the gooey goodness off of your fingers in a most delectible and seductive manner, otherwise why eat it?

That's right. All the peasants took her advice, chowed-down on gateaux, and blew up like chateaux. Marie stayed thin, so they killed her to get even.

Alright, it was actually quite a big piece. I didn't have ice cream though.

So I had a little piece of ice cream.

Alright, fine, I had a normal to large piece of ice cream.

lol you poor bastard. Food can and should be a pleasure, not simply a way to fuel yourself. Being active is invigorating, and a double slice of chocolate cake or an apple pie all to yourself is what makes life worth while!

If the world was out of apple pie, I would do it right and drown myself in a vat of chocolate pudding.

Another favorite topic . . . . chocolate cake.

At a recent dinner party, my friend (who is a pastry chef) made me this for me:

A 14" round uber-moist five-layer dark chocolate cake filled with white buttercream stuffed w/ semi-sweet chocolate chips in it and topped w/ large fresh strawberries.

Each person was served a large slice plus two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream.

It was heaven . . .

Yep. I just eat waxed cardboard and pretend. Nothing is bad, it's only our tendencies to indulge and glutton. I'm a passionate person, and so highly likely to get carried away with sex, drugs or chocolate cake.
Never have snorted chocolate cake, but I did eat some drugs, and the other well... gentlemen don't talk of such things.

I'm going to take up smoking when I hit 40.

Sorry, not to the person to ask such a thing. But I will tell you that if you live your in moderation and indulge only ever so much in moderation, that you may find yourself less guilt ridden and more happy that you're actually doing the right things for yourself. I myself eat sweets once in a while, and make a point to enjoy what I've earned from giving myself long extended periods of exercize and a healthy diet. I know I deserve a piece of cake after 3 months of greens and routine. Similarly, a candy bar after a couple weeks of maintaining my diet. I honestly recommend living that way. Sure beats the emotional cycle that comes from beating yourself up during a "diet"ing period.

Apple pie is good, but it must be earned through low hard hours on a treadmill and accompanied with low fat ice cream then it can truley be appreciated

Home made, full fat, vanilla bean ice cream with a home made apple pie.. ugh, the last one I made I ate the whole thing.

Food is to be enjoyed and sometimes you can indulge what is more important is that you don't beat your self up about it and that you enjoy life with all its splendors just not to much of each to often.

So yes, eat that chocolate cake or apple pie or ice cream, just don't do it every single day

Chocolate cake didn't turn me gay though, it was the licking melted chocolate off that fellas chest that did it for me.
