....until I can find another job and my cash flow going again.

It sucks, because I was just starting to make fairly good progress.

There are plenty of exercises you can do at home!

you can do pushup, squats and leg work at home! do incline pushups as well... Sucks but if you work it you should not go backwards!

    Good luck! icon_razz.gif

Nothing wrong with making good financial decisions but that doesn't mean you have to make bad health ones! Here's a website that has 75 body weight workouts that don't require any equipment except a jump rope. Keep up the good work!

Obviously you know your financial situation better than I do, but unless that few dozen dollars a month you'll be saving is the one thing standing between you and disaster, I think you should reconsider.

Have you looked into the possibilities for discounted memberships - like for off-peak hours, for example?

If the average membership is around $50/month -- and there are a lot for less -- that means you're saving about $1.67 a day by canceling it. Is there anywhere else you can find those savings?

If not, I agree with the others that you should do what you can at home. But if the gym's been working for you I hope you can stick with it.

But it's not fun to work out at home!
I wanna be somewhere else working out, with equipment and weight choices, other men sweating and grunting, loud music, lockers, showers, steam rooms...icon_twisted.gif

Search "Prison Workouts". You'd be amazed at the variety you can do with just your own body. Grab some dumbbells and pull up bar from Play-it-Again Sports (or another used sporting goods store) if you really want to use equipment.

My gym membership is a basic living cost. It is a wellness, proactive healthcare cost that I absolutely would not ice. And, at $79/year it is a bargain.

    That said...
    Push ups
    Pull ups
    Free!

No need to quit working out completely. As others have mentioned, there are no-gym alternatives to staying in shape. Push-ups, pull-ups, ab exercises. You don't need equipment to those. There has to be a park in your area that has workout stations or playground equipment where you can do pull-ups and such.

Spoke to the gym owner yesterday and he said, so long as I pay something each month, but I don't want to end up with loads of penalty points. Will try stick with it as long as I can. icon_rolleyes.gif
