the combination of the two (arid-zona and GOP-teabagger) seems to be a match made in conservative heaven (or hell?).

    Holy shit! you did!

When did you move to NY? Weren't you in Sierra Vista?

    Yup.
I moved about a month ago.
It's so great to back in NY too.

I hate to say that AZ is fucked up beyond repair - but after reading this latest shit the AZ Repubs are pulling - I think it just may be.

Well, at the very least it is in really poor taste to be auctioning off a gun, let alone the same type of gun the shooter used, in Gabrielle Gifford's district. That said, it is unfair to generalize and paint the entire Arizona Republican Party with the same broad brush based on this relatively minor and little known auction (I live here and hadn't even heard of this until this thread).

Welcome back to our high taxed state courtesy of your wonderful democratic party. icon_twisted.gif I am sure that the people of Arizona are very happy that you finally left their beautiful, prosperous state and they can now live in peace without your childish rantings.

But now that RR is 45 minutes from Broadway---we will probably see less of him here on RJ as he'll be making up for that lost time. Watch out NYC--here comes Rick. Actually, am a bit jealous, would love to be a short train ride away from Manhattan! Enjoy your life back in NY Ricky!

There are many of us here on RJ who live in Arizona, but RickRick (stuck in bumfuck Sierra Vista) was the only one complaining about it. Draw your own conclusions. I suspect it won't be long before he starts complaining about NY too.

I lived in Arizona for four months. Not a great experience.

It might have been that red dress and the wig --- we are kind of on the casual side here in AZ icon_wink.gif

Guess your grandmother forgot to include that "You should never judge all barn's based on the color of one". icon_wink.gif

I think the entire world is aware of the political climate in Arizona, just as we're aware of that same atmosphere in Texas. You guys make national news enough with the despicable Republican "leaders" you elect to run your state.

It should be noted that we elect those leaders by a very large margin...it's not even close. It's not because they are "despicable", but rather because they have the balls to make the tough, albeit not always popular, decisions that need to be made for THIS state. We don't really give a crap about what people in other states may think about that because what may be necessary in AZ might not be in other states.

I would think that a lot of the people who live in Arizona are California refugees who don't want their new destination to turn into the place they left.

What is this, middle school? My state can kick your state's ass?
    Please.

Thank you. This tribal mindset is eroding the unity of our country, and during the Bush administration it alienated allies.

The unity of this country has been waning for a long time. We'll never have unity like we did at the beginning of WWII.

I agree. I think the break away from the status quo (which I think was a good thing) caused several rifts during the decades that followed. As a result, our country has seen a spike in tribe mentality (us vs them) which continues to get stronger.

A movie about gay & racial hatred in Arizona. I've met all of the participants in this award-winning movie, and the Executive Producer is a long-time friend of ours. We attended a function with him just a couple of weeks ago, he lives not far from us.

A gay drag performer gets murdered, and the Arizona police & politicians try to cover it up, refuse to admit it's a hate crime. Years later the murderer is convicted, because of the guy in this movie (whom I've met), but he's only sentenced to a few years. Guys caught smoking marijuana spend more time in jail.

    Yeah, welcome to Arizona.
