A 23-year-old woman was arrested on murder charges Thursday after admitting to breaking into a woman's apartment and cutting her throat.
Stephanie Kirby, from Las Vegas, called Las Vegas police about 3:30 a.m. Thursday and reported the killing, her arrest report said.
Kirby told police she entered an apartment at 5501 Harmon Avenue, near Boulder Highway, and found a woman, "Tiffany," sleeping in a bed.
She told police she struck Tiffany several times with a vase and then ordered her into the bathtub. She then stabbed Tiffany several times with a kitchen knife, the report said.
Kirby told police she was angry with Tiffany because she had ruined her friend's life. She denied entering the apartment with the intention to kill.
According to the report, there was blood on the bed, carpeting and walls of the apartment.The victim has not officially been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
Kirby was booked at the county jail on charges of murder with a deadly weapon.
