I was talking with my friend today about Chaz Bono on Dancing With the Stars. He thought that it was groundbreaking and a fantastic decision by ABC that will help push the gay agenda forward.

I had quite a different take on it.

There is something about it that makes me mad. I mean..... how many transexuals are there in the world vs. how many gay men and/or gay woman?

Would ABC ever consider a man dancing with a man? Or a woman dancing with a woman?

I guess it is good for all minorities that Chaz Bono gets a spot on the show but I don't see how it has any effect on the advancement of gays in this society.

    What do you think?

I find it sad that every thing he does has to be viewed as a statement with an agenda. He's struggled with his sexuality and gender identity for years, is finally at a place where he is happy with who he is and he can't even be on a dance show.

Chaz Bono is a man. Why do people still have a problem accepting that? Candis Cayne is a woman. Having Chaz dance with a man would be really insulting to him, and it would be equally insulting for Candis Cayne, if she were on Dancing with the Stars, to be dancing with a woman. I just don't see what the big deal is, and why people are so concerned with him, and who he is dancing with. Btw, his being on the show has nothing to do with the "gay agenda".

I have watched many interviews with Chaz and love listening to him. Very self-assured and so honest about his whole journey.

I believe Chaz being on DWTS will do wonders for both the gay and transgender community. If they can handle what many consider more "deviant" than being gay, then a gay couple may be just around the corner next year.

He really has. Its been a huge emotional turning point in his life. That's probably the reason for the weight gain. He'll be the next Kristie Alley weight loss story of the show. I'm rooting for him big time!

How is someone that fat going to make it on that show?

About impact being on the show? I dont know. I have never seen the show. I guess the built in weirdness would be him dancing with a woman? I dont know if anyone cares or not.

    Helping or hurting what?
He'll get some aerobic activity and lose some weight, so good for him.

Fat actress was on the show before, and Chaz can't be any bigger than her.

Are you concerned about how a transgendered person will make the gays look worse? Some homophobes already want to have the gays killed. You think that not having Chaz on the show will make them only want to maim us and not have us killed?
It's put a public face onto transgendered issues, so good for him.

Plus, it's drummed up a lot of attention for this show.

I heard they were thinking of having Chely Wright (a female country singer who came out as a lesbian last year) on DWTS with a female partner.

What I don't understand is...why can't a gay man be on Dancing With the Stars and just dance with a female? And why can't a lesbian dance with a guy? Just because you are gay doesn't mean you can't be dancing partners with the opposite gender. SMH.

Helping, and I think gays and lesbians have been contestants in past seasons. Anything that's a big FUCK YOU to the right-wing bigots is A-ok in my book.

I didn't know much about him before all this DWTS controversy, so I youtubed him and I found this interview and I have to say he's completely adorable, and I'm gonna be voting for him!

    Exactly this.

Do those who are up in arms about Chaz being on DWTS, really know WHY they are? Are they afraid his "sent from Satan" new penis is going to pop out during a lift?

Please, people get a life. when will you learn that it just doesn't matter if a person is straight, gay, transgender, wiccan, plushie, Tea Party member (well, maybe not them, they're evil)?

I don't agree with the idea that this is "pushing the gay agenda forward" because transgender issues and gay issues are not always the same thing (unless Chaz is also now a gay man), because I think there is no such thing as a "gay agenda" -- unless just wanting to live your life is an "agenda item."

They put us through Bristol Palin, now it's our turn.

However, if Chaz is the first dancer cut, that will look terrible on both the gay and transgender community. If only he wasn't so fucking fat. Because if he is cut, you won't know what caused it, transgender or fat. Unless he's an awesome dancer.

Casting Him has nothing to do with Gay or transgender issues. It is simply a stunt to boost ratings, and right now He is the Hot Topic. As long as he doesnt quit or fall on every episode he will be among the top regardless if he can dance or not ie (Bristol Palin)

YOU are part of the problem and your own worst enemy..

Quit listening to the right's koolaide and STOP pulling this "gay agenda" crap. It doesnt exist.

Equality and acceptance is NOT an 'agenda'.. You yourself are not helping either.
