EVERYONE who visits LA or LAX should have a burger at the LAX In-N-Out outside on the patio and watch the heavies come in, one right after another. The pictures speak for themselves. In the last three pictures, I love looking at the reactions of the people eating and watching just how close these massive machines are.

That's awesome, we don't have any on the flight path for DFW or LUV yet...however they keep popping up all the time now. one just opened 2 blocks from my place, so it's just a short while before they put one at the airports!

@ EastCoastNAZ: I think it was Sam Chui.

I love going to the In-N-Out Burger at LAX to watch the planes land! Beats the beach a lot of times!

You only ever need one reason to visit an In-N-Out... mmmmm

The planes would be an added benefit though, a bit like PJIA on St. Maarten:

You and I actually AGREE on something!!!

I have never enjoyed a hamburger more when I was in SoCal years ago and ate at the In-N-Out. Just heaven! Just the best!

I dunno dude, I've lived 7 miles from LAX for 25 years and these photos just look fake to me. Especially the first one, which shows a jumbo jet about 20 feet off the ground - taken by who? Someone in another jet right above them? Is there no air traffic control at all?

Notice how in each of the next three photos the jets appear to be exactly the same length, even though they're clearly different types of airplane.

Here's a satellite image of the area:
    a08cbb.jpg

The In N Out is in the upper right corner, next to the parking lot marked "P". On the left side of the picture is the very start of the runway. Having landeed at LAX literally hundreds of times, I've never seen a plane come in so low right at the start of the runway.

There are a few places in the area where people famously go to watch the planes come in - the Proud Bird Restaurant on Aviation Blvd is one of them. But I've never heard anybody talk about this In N Out before.

Seems to me like somebody just wants to sell hamburgers.

@hairymusclejock: The best times to go are between about 10am and 3pm or so, which is when most of the 'heavies' from Asia and Europe arrive

@Tazo995: Princess Juliana is such a beautiful airport with the clear blue water and variety of 'heavies' from Air France and KLM Royal Dutch landing on a daily basis

@turtleneckjock: Aviation and a love of planes can truly bring people together icon_cool.gif

@Athaleet: For more information, other than what Southbeach said, I would suggest joining airliners.net and messaging Sam Chui. I know it looks utterly unbelieveable that he captured that first shot but he did somehow, someway. The other three shots are all very real and very easily seen from the In-N-Out Burger at LAX. Boeing 777's and Airbus A340's and A380's are each very long and very big planes!

@Southbeach: Thank you so much for your helpful explanations and input!
