Ok so yesterday I came out to my friend, first time ever coming out, and to my surprise he was hella cool with it, but after talking for a little he asked me if i told my parents. The answer to that is no. And I was wondering if it is wrong that i don't want to tell them yet because I am damn sure what will happen. I already know ill be shunned(i hope thats the right word) because my parents are pastors. And I just want to wait until i have a more independent life, because i also currently live with them and they are paying for my college... I just wanted more input on this...

    Thanks

Shelter and food go long ways before independence and coming out do.

Wait until after you can afford yourself.

For most of us that are out of the closet, our parents were not the first people we told. And if you will follow the same path as most of us, there will probably be a lot more people you tell before getting to your parents. Nothing wrong with that. Think of the people you tell as practice before you get to that really big moment.
