Ugh, what an awful song. Check out the song that she sampled from : Major Lazer's "Pon de Floor". Much more awesome, with none of that awful caterwauling or the awful ironically chauvinistic message of her song.

Chalk up Beyonce as yet another artist (along with Lupe Fiasco, Jason Derulo, Rihanna) that are multimedia parasites sampling artists more talented than themselves to disguise the fact that nothing they do are original or good.

Honestly I cant stand it. I think its the worst song she has ever done. And I am a fan. I have worked with her a few times and she is awsome. But this song...not so much for me. I remember hearing a rough mix before it was released and asking "this isnt a single, is it?"

I liked the beats (because I knew of and liked the original) but found the lyrics to be strangely backward and unlikeable. Similar to how Single Ladies was strangely anti-"girl power" if you actually listened to the lyrics of the verses.

I've been generally dissapointed in Beyonce's solo material since she released her first album (with a few exeptions - I LOVED irreplaceable) but Run the World was a new low for her IMO. It was basically Independant Women part 27 - I didn't even bother checking out the rest of her new album after hearing it.

I still love her voice though. I'm hoping that she takes some time off after becoming a mother and really put some thought into her next album.

Lol I can assure I'm not a 'hater' (god I hate that term). I supported destinys child ever since ther first single and album was released in 1998 but Beyonces solo stuff has never measured up to the group stuff for me. Still I know she's got a good album in her somewhere.

I like it when it comes on in the club. But it is blase. I love "Love on Top". I have become a major fan since the VMAs.

    I also love:

These are my two favorites off of the album.

The video is easily better than tbhe song. However I think Beyonce is the ultimate package. Tall sexy talented (singing and dancing) keeps her private life private, most of the time, caring spiritual and just, amazing. Everything she does she does for us, the fans. I love her.

i'm not that into pon di floor but she didn't really sample it - diplo + switch (aka major lazer) were actually hired as producers, took the raw track and re-engineered it for beyonce. (not that straight sampling is inherently a bad thing, but giving credit where it's due)

Not a Bey fan (0_0, yea i said it) but she makes great (ok sometimes) music. Run the World is an okay catchy song. Imo, Bey has not been good since Dangerously In Love. But its my opinion. Lol
