Its that time again y'all! Date wise, I'm thinking mid-October. Maybe this time we can go to a restaurant instead of a bar. Discuss among yourselves and I'll see what I can come up with.

The link is for a thread about how the meet up went. It was a lot of fun. There were eight guys total who showed up. We had it during Market Days so some of us hung out down there the remainder of the night.

To set one up isn't hard. Just set it up way in advance and pick a place to meet.

Hmmm.... maybe we could find a Groupon for a restaurant that's offering some kind of group deal...

That sounds like a good idea.

I can see this is going to be much more of a challenge to set up then the last one.

I'd love to come up for a meetup, but I'm booked through November with rugby matches (none of which are near Chicago). Hope to catch Round 3, though.

I agree with you on your comment. Although the groupon idea sounds nice in theory, if a number of people wind up not showing at the last minute then the groupon idea could become a very bad one for the people who do show up.

Perhaps we can choose a place where groupons are accepted and let people get their own? So say you buy one for $10 but it gives you a $20 credit. Not sure if that will work but it might be more feasible than buying a groupon for several people which might become useless if people do not show up.

Just trying to think ahead. icon_smile.gif

    I can help, RB. icon_smile.gif

Or we could just go to Hooters.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidYeah I'd like to do this again but would like it if it could be in an environment without alcohol. Or at least be in a place that focuses (restaurant) more on food than it does on alcohol.

    Pretty please?

I was thinking the same thing.

Looks like our organizer may need to bow out, how about the big A takes over and carries it through.

What do you guys want, pizza or an Americana place?
If you want to go cheap, check out this link:

I think a restaurant/bar would be a great compromise-- or even better, a BYOB restaurant...

There's a cool Sushi place down the street from me on Broadway by Wellington. Hiro's Cafe. They do all-you-can-eat sushi for under $20 per person and there must be 150 items on the menu. It's pretty good sushi, too, and made to order (not buffet style). You can bring your wine/beer/whatever.

    Just a thought.

I could step out of my comfort zone and do sushi instead of meat and potatoes. How about Sat. Oct. 8 or Oct 22nd?

I like the 8th better... but that's only because I have a friend in from out of town on the 22nd. Then again, he used to be on this site and might like to join. Whatever we decide, we should get a rough head-count and make a reservation somewhere well in advance.

Hey fellas, I may have to bow out. School and work are going to get a little crazy. I will do my best to make it to the meetup. If its sooner rather than later, I have a better chance of making it.

I think I could make it to this one. But it would have to be earlier then later in the month. I'm going to be out of town that weekend.

I really do like the 8th better than the 22nd.

I'll get in touch with Robby and Adrien about this too... I think this sounds like fun. And if the sushi place sounds good to most of us, I'm telling you, you can't beat this place for an amazing deal. Of course there are plenty of vegetarian options too, and in general, it's a feel-good meal that will leave everyone feeling FULL without the crappy junk-food carb coma.

I might be able to make the 8th.

Hopefully work lets me out early and school work is kept at bay.

Let's do October 8th and if R has too much homework, he brings it with. I am an expert at homework and we can make it a group project and I am sure the result will be nothing the teacher expects icon_wink.gif
