I hope decent people on the left condemn this as vehemently as they do some minor cross-hairs on a website.

    http://mrctv.org/videos/video-game-allows-players-slaughter-tea-party-zombies-sarah-palin-and-bill-oreilly

Not only is it a violent game channeling ideas of violence toward a particular political ideology but it is extremely racist. "Pissed of stupid white trash redneck birther zombie"?? Imagine a game that said "Pissed of stupid black man zombie"?

And commentary from the game's creator:

You guys started this shit with your talk of crosshairs, loaded bullets at your little rallies and laughing about the Gifford's shooting, and now you want to whine about a video game? Who saw this coming? icon_lol.gif

Using military metaphors in politics is as old as can be, so don't be silly. This, on the other hand, is an extremely graphic and racially incendiary game that SHOULD be condemned. Imagine a game where you could slaughter barack obama or nancy pelosi...you would be the first to decry it as the most "racist" and "sexist" thing to come along in ages.

And what's with the "you guys started this shit"? Who is "you guys"? I'm now in cahoots with Sarah Palin's website?

Well Mock, it's a little mind boggling and pretty awful. In fact I'm appalled by it.
But your absolute unfettered in any way shape or form freedom of speech trumps all, you know that, no matter who or how many die because of it.

However, it's business right? And your cry is always that business should be able to do whatever it wants to do.

You might want to read this:

Meanwhile US business is busy outsourcing jobs to... guess where?

What does condemning something have to do with the notion of preventing or stopping or banning?

Were you thinking that I was suggesting a game like this should be banned? Of course not.

That's a concept you can't grasp very well.

This Violent game is inexcuseable and not in the least entertaining, are there any petition drives, boycotts to stop this ? Let us know if you find any, This should be stopped by public pressure.

Oh right, I forgot, it's all about two polarized sides screaming at each other.

If you don't want it banned, what's the point of complaining about it? (aside from an exhausting expenditure of energy better spent on something that will have an actual result)

Don't make the tea party resort to the bulletbox! Because they WILL kill you if you don't vote with them!

I would be forced to disagree with the idea of stopping a game like this from being made. To me, it's freedom of expression but it should definitely be condemned.

Wow, are you kidding? What's the point in condemning unhealthy food if I'm not interested in having some power "ban" it? LOL woooow.

I think that hamburgers are bad for people and that they shouldn't be eating them, so that obviously means I'm in favor of banning them! icon_lol.gif

To condemn that behavior as wrong and discourage others from thinking it's "okay".

Good lord, it's a good thing you don't have kids. You'd let them play this game while telling them how awful it was, eh?

Quite frankly that may very have the effect of making it feel deliciously taboo, and therefore all the more enticing.

I'd say these pics of public demonstrations have probably more clout than a video game.

Do you condemn these people with signs, Mock?

I will have kids one day, and I will tell them what they can and cannot do until they are old enough to make their own decisions, then if they want to play this game they can.

But I *know* what's *best* for you and because of that it automatically gives me the authority to ban you from eating them. icon_smile.gif I will use force if I have to, but trust me it's all out of love and concern!

This is absolutely no different than Grand Theft Auto, which I've played hundreds of hours and I have yet to steal a car, run over an old lady, fuck a prostitute in said stolen car. Besides, I thought you guys were for less government interference.

Can we keep this remotely attached to the planet Earth? Hamburgers: 1/4 lb extra lean sirloin or bison. Fresh whole wheat bun, fresh lettuce, tomatoe, onion, pickle, a bit of ketchup and mustard, butter or margarine (non hydrogenated) (organic products all of them if you like).

Silly comparisons are silly. But then, we keep having to remind ourselves that these topics and posts are for the sake of argument with nothing productive as the intent behind them.

What does having less government interference have to do with condemning something as being politically inflammatory and stoking political violence?

That's why I inquired as to whether or not petitions or boycotts are being put together, because that is also an exercize of freedom of speach, The Co. is free to put out the vid and the buying public is free to boycott it, pressuring the Co's advertisers and signing petitions to be sent to the Co. making this piss poor example of hate speech in the guise of entertainment.

This is just like, Glen Beck had the right to preach exagerations, outright falsehoods and hate, but so does the listening public have the right to place pressure on advertisers that they won't buy their product if they endorse Glen Beck by advertising during his time on air. It was very effective, it took about 18 months or so, but public pressure shut the dumb fuck up by using their right to free speech. Its fair in the game of free speech for a company to lose out by ending up taking the results of their negative actions, which is, if a Co. takes things too far, the consumers will bring that Co. back to reality. Lesson being for Beck or Companies that put out this kind of shit that if you put yourself out on a limb that does damage to society, society may just cut that damn limb off.

Please accept that my strong Midwestern expressions are in no way against you, but they are to express my high level of disgust over these type of Vids. My grandkids may end up with one and frankly I don't want them playing any such vid game.

Just another example of the double-standard that exists out there. If this were a GOP-themed game aimed at picking off Obama, Hillary, Pelosi & Company, I can only imagine the screeching that would be going on.
