RickRick91 saidRegarding the Repub's Ryan budget proposal - Politifact also finds the following things are TRUE:
That the Ryan proposal would privatize Medicare.
That in 10 years, when the Ryan budget plan would be fully implemented, seniors would be forced to pay $6,400.00 more per year for their health care costs.
And most shockingly - that the Ryan plan wouldn't balance the budget until the 2060's, and would add 62 TRILLION dollars to the National Debt between now and then.
NO THANKS, REPUBS.
I'm curious, given the leadership of the Obama Administration and those like Nancy Pelosi, where is their plan on this issue to solve the projected deficits as a result of entitlement spending?
I don't think the Ryan plan goes aggressively enough in reducing spending given how large they have been, but where's the alternatives being considered by the Democrats?
First of all - FYI the Speaker of the House is John Boehner - NOT Nancy Pelosi.
Boehner and the Repubs are in complete control of the House.
They're in charge.
The burden and responsibilty of action on debt reduction is on THEM.
Secondly - regarding the Democrats "plan on the issue" - President Obama proposed a "Grand Bargain" during the debt ceiling debate that would've reduced the National Debt by 4 trillion dollars.
The Repubs rejected the deal and instead proposed a debt reduction package that would have only reduced the National Debt by less than 1 trillion.
When it comes to reducing the National Debt - the "deficits don't matter" Repubs have a long history of talking a lot of shit, and then doing nothing.
Nothing but adding even MORE debt.
