HALP...Ok so I opened up an ebay store and I sell sports gear I find at ridiculous clearance prices to make a bit of a profit. Problem is a lot of it I don't know how to list because I don't know what the hell it is! What am I wearing and what sport is it for??

    paddedbluecomp.jpg

As you can see it has all these padded squares around it. The tags say it's a "Competition base layer"...which tells me nothing.

edit- herp derp image too big...but you can still see most it

I bet your sweaty "clearance priced" jockstraps are one of your best sellers.

eBay doesn't allow the sale of used underwear =(

Does anyone have a clue what this thing is? I'd like to be able to describe it accurately.

I'd make bank if it was. Everyone who grew up with them is all grown up and capable of spending money on reminiscing their childhood =D

    No idea.

I used to by pallet loads of old lab equipment at government auctions then sell pieces on auction sites. Just knowing what an item was, was usually the difference between merchandise and scrap. Unfortunately, the government eventually got wise and largely cut out the middleman on that avenue.

Just a guess, but it looks like something that would be worn in fencing. Good luck with it.

MAC-P, these fools don't know what they're talking about...

a baselayer is a generic term for gear you wear under your clothes or whatever it is you're working out in. the idea is that it both insulates and cools (amongst other things). think of it as underarmour. Nike makes a competition version pro. as for the pads, some of them have pads added to areas that take a lot of impact or stress, but they're not protection by any means-- just extra helps it's not really a good football shirt considering there are no shoulders to it, but it could be used for football... though real football, aka soccer, would probably be better.

I believe killer pj is correct. but the sure way to find out is to google the product code which is probably on the clothing label. It should take you right to the websites where they are sold (in this case Nike) and provide descriptions.

    Here ya go:

    http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/?cp=USNS_KW_0611081618&l=shop,home#l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-100701/pid-251593/pgid-429531

The "Vis Deflex" portion of the product name might be critical in its ability to sell as some may search specifically by that name, especially for what appears to be a very specialized product so it might be a good idea to add that to your product headline. Don't think I'd call it "base layer" either vs. "under-jersey protection".

P.S. I like your store. I thought about doing something similar, and am still considering it.

With just one look, I would guess it is something for kick boxing. The padding is in all the right areas.

    Awesome! Thank you! icon_biggrin.gif

The e-store's becoming a bigger and bigger commitment, but it's pretty fun! Hunting down merchandise, marketing it, etc. But it's a lot more work than I anticipated.
