From Nintendo is all about Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda. For PS/PS2 it's Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts

I can't choose one single SMB game but my all-time Zelda game is Ocarina Of Time.

For SNES I miss Perfect Dark, that game was like crack to me.
Playstation/PS2 had two series that I love and they are Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy.
I go through phases of playing RPGs and shooters and lately I've been hooked on RE5 and L4D2
Mind you, Final Fantasy VII is the best game of all time. One could dispute that but the Powers That Be may be slightly offended.

    Mario III for Nintendo
Breath of Fire II for SNES
    Final Fantasy VII for PS/PS2
PS3... not a lot of games I'm impressed by.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War for PC

    I don't understand everyone's obsession with Final Fantasy 7. I just DON'T GET IT.

Edward WHY would you make a topic like this I could go on forever about the topic. Sadly. icon_redface.gif

    I love you.

I'm only here for Earthbound, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario RPG, FF7, and Pokemon (the first two installments, now I don't play it anymore)

I've been thinking about why people love Final Fantasy VII SOOOO much and I have this theory that probably their first final fantasy was 7 or their first platform was playstation. I can't really figure it out.

I know that my first final fantasy that I realllllly got into was 4 (was 2 for the SNES) and 6 ( was 3 for the SNES). 7 was fun, don't get me wrong, but it just lacks that punch that 4 and 6 gave me.

Then again.... maybe it had to do with graphics at the time. I've never held graphics high on my priority list.

You may be on to something here. My frist Final Fantasy was VII and I've played them all since then and the only other Final Fantasy that I can say I LOVE is Tactics. I like the rest. I suppose FFVII was my first love in a sense.

Tactics had an incredibly dark storyline compared to the other games, in my opinion. Well, 7 did too but it lightened the mood frequently. Tactics was just dark. I've spent soooooOOOOOoooo many hours on Tactics I will never tell you the real number. LOL

I agree, it took the gamer on a dark adventure. Betrayal, corruption, death all around. I invested many moons on that game and yet I cannot play chess...::sigh::

Because it was just amazing for the time it was released. And VIII was good too but not at the same level as VII.

VIII was my first, to which fell in love with, and then of course X is the best. I'm going to download VII sometime soon and play that when i get a break from school. XIII- disappointing.. XII- sucked.. i can't wait for XIII versus.. looks amazing

zelda 64 was really good too. but yea those final fantasy games have me hooked. i'm sure later i'll get XIV when its out for PS3

I loved the characters from VIII. I don't remember any good FF games after VIII. Did you ever played Majora's Mask? or The Wind Waker?

It was originally released on PS1 which was awesome but they did remake the game for handhelds. I also owned it for PSP and they did, in factm tweak it.

played majoras mask too, that one didn't do it for me as much as ocarina of time, but still enjoyed it.

And yea i like VIII a lot, i really felt like i was squall, it was a kinda dark point in my life. I like X because of the story and the theme. who knew a video game would ultimately say religion and being conservative is bad, try new things and don't always do as your told and not challenge things. The story and characters are amazing as is the music.

Square does a great job with most of their games, it'd be a dream job of mine to work for that company somehow!

I played Majora's Mask with a friend who had it. But I agree it wasn't as good as Ocarina Of Time.

Oh yes. SquareEnix has done some pretty good games. Not just the gaming experience but the artwork/characters, music and storyline.

I played the FF series in the same order as you did, but FF 7 still turned out to be my favorite. It wasn't the graphics that did it for me; it was the characters, their backstory and the materia system which allowed you to create a party where each character didn't have a pre-determined role.
