This comes after decades of oppression from the Mubarrak regime which was financed by the US for its silence, acquiescence, and cooperation with Israels mistreatment and open air imprisonment of the Gazans.

The next big reason for this is in protest over Israel's killing of 5 Egytian soldiers and Israel's reticence to apologise over it. Much like its refusal to apologize for killing 9 turks unnecessarily on a Flotilla ship about a year and a half ago.

Much of the anger is also directed at the US for backing Israel over Palestinian Statehood, while it steals land for its settlements from the Palestinians, simultaneously claiming they want to make peace with those they steal from. (Who is god damn dumb enough to buy that one)

You can read about this protest, on MSN, Huffington post, Haaretz, or The Jewish Daily Forward.

The peoples of the Middle East who lived under compliant,pro-Western dictatorships will not forget that basic fact in this new 'democratic' era.
The classic example is how the US and the UK actively supported Saddam Hussein in brutally oppressing his own people(and attacking other countries with WMD) up to the invasion of Kuwait in 1990;or when the people of Pakistan revolted against the cruel military rule of General Musharaf, the West took his side! Now they are all for democracy and freedom in certain, select Arab countries. This hypocrisy should never be forgotten as they try to rewrite history.
