We are now the 2nd most gay city in the US, based on percentage of population. Most of the bars, restaurants and other businesses are gay owned or gay friendly.

You'll see rainbow flags everywhere. Gay PDAs are the the norm. It's very liberating to be openly out here, and have nothing to fear. And much of neighboring Fort Lauderdale and Oakland Park are the same way. This is the gay town, the gay experience, many of us always dreamed about.

Disregard the crap a few haters here spew about my town. Their motives I cannot say, but those guys are anything but gay-friendly.

So we have gay guest houses here, just Google them, not far from the beach. But only 3 miles away are gay guest houses nearer to the beach, all a couple of blocks away from the ocean in Fort Lauderdale. Again, Google them, most along North Birch. Stay there, visit us!

I actually referenced this news item here about the gay ranking of Wilton Manors, a few weeks ago, before a certain person tried to use it to trash us. Disregard the hate, come down here and feel the love.

And if you need help and advice, e-mail me. We know everybody, and every place. Unlike the haters, I actually advise, won't attack.

Fall and Winter are coming on, but if you arrive soon, you'll still be off-season, and get the best rates. Trust your Bob -- if I can get you the best deals in this area, or Key West, I will. Just because you guys are RJ members, I'll try to make that happen. icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks! I've been to your Nawlins many times. Used to hold conferences there with my Army staff. When I went by myself I sometimes stayed at the Richelieu.

Is it still there? Shabby but the kind of old flavor I love. I HATE cookie-cutter modern hotels. Where I don't know whether I'm in New Orleans or Topeka, Kansas.

If you ever leave your "beloved new orleans" you will stay here. Or else in a place we will help you choose. I presume you would do the same for us up there. You know you have an open invitation from us. icon_biggrin.gif

I think Art has a pretty good handle on all things Wilton - I've been there twice, and both times i was impressed with its cleanliness, its inclusiveness, and its friendliness. While i'm not sure I'll ever return to Florida to live again (i've lived in both Tampa and Flagler Beach) as I do love living in the mountains of Colorado, if I'm presented with the opportunity, you can bet Wilton Manors will be on the short list.

Well that's it -- come to live, or come to visit. It's currently Gay Central in Florida, and only those who hate things gay will hate Wilton Manors.

It's fun, it's friendly, it's fucking everything you every dreamed a largely gay community could be (well, the streets aren't QUITE paved with glitter). And as I always say, all RJ members are welcome to e-mail me for specifics.

I'll tell you where to stay, maybe even get you a special discount. Meet my partner & me for drinks on us, and we'll introduce you to the celebrities (assuming they're around). If the timing is right, we'll get your pic in our gay rags. Just let me know in advance that you're coming.

Didn't Art (Bob) apologize for his bigoted remarks (above) and recant his previous anti-Islamic rant a while ago when it was pointed out to him?

He claimed a miraculous epiphany and announced to the world he was "reformed" - in just one day!

In reality, it was a desperate attempt to rehabilitate his "reputation" in light of his true feelings coming out.
And you have meant every word posted here right? Watch it.. you posted some pretty nasty stuff! The mirror sucks doesnt it?

That's great, but we all need to be out where we are and change our current places of residence for the better.
