I must think I am a soccer mom.
I was talking with friends and came to realize that my car, Audi Q7, is a soccer Mom car.

I love Audi's and wanted an SUV, so i bought the vehicle, but was so blinded by Audi that I didn't see that's my car is best for breeder/burbs than for me.

Now, I don't know what to get.
I like riding taller than most other cars, don't want an American SUV, don't want to get another soccer Mom car, trying to make executive at work so needs to be somewhat of an executive vehicle...WTF do I get?

Range Rover is probably your best bet.

I almost did the same thing, my salesman talked me out of buying the Q7, went for an A6 instead, he also talked me out of the S6...

weird eh, when a sales guy helps you make the right choice versus maxing out his commission.

Range Rovers have improved greatly for reliability, kind of bloated on pricing tho.

That depends, do you do the "soccer mom arm save" on your passenger when you pull up to a red light to fast?

Ya never buy one brand new... buy one with 8000 miles on it... you'll get a lot of the bloated price shaved off.

That's how I ended up with an LR2.....got 10k off it's original sales prices much more affordable.

^^That particular model of Rover is for the soccer/baseball dad. He's the type though that doesn't see his kids quite often except for the annual road trip or very rare pick up from practice.

Well now this might could work for you.icon_razz.gif

I kind of want to seduce this fictitious, emotionally unstable baseball dad in your scenario.

Improved? Reliable? Sure they have/are. icon_rolleyes.gif

OP, since you hate American SUVs and you want to feel like you're all that AKA an "executive" get a Mercedes GL450or GL550. That's the only class of luxury SUV I would recommend aside from the leaders GMC Yukon Denali and Cadillac Escalade or the AMG G55. They are seriously under powered though but is in line of what you want.

Compact SUV's in general scream Soccer Mom unless you have a bike or a canoe rack on top. Lex RX3 series set the standard and other manufacturers copy them.

All things considered, I'd stick with the Q7.

I personally don't differentiate mentally between it and the Porsche or BMW M5. But, my M5 owning friends constantly whine about its gas consumption.

    "Mercedes GL450or GL550"

Those scream something else... Sophisticated? No.. Large Mormon family? Not quite. "Asshole"? Hmm...

Up here in the Northwest, since dealers can't give away Suburbans, they've become the vehicle of choice for illegals. One totaled my contractor friend's pickup truck exactly one year to the day after he decided to forgo uninsured coverage.

It's a high end soccer mom. The kind whose kids start out doing Vicodin they steal from her medicine cabinet which she's also hooked on which her doctor husband enables her with. You build the story around the vehicle =)

Your friends are idiots, if you'll forgive me. Soccer Moms do not drive that car. Are your friends mostly queeny bitches? Never buy a car based on what gay friends say.

They'll put you into a Lesbianmobile before you know it. Or some prissy thing that you'll hate. What you have is just fine.

The question is what are your practical needs, not what is your orientation. When you select a car based mostly on image and sexual expectations you are likely to go wrong.

So what do you need, that this car does not meet?

For it to be more rugged looking.
I have a truck as well, so if I have to haul anything big I will use the truck.

It doesnt HAVE to be a soccer mom car!

Though... my sister who is a newlywed and pregnant with her first child... just got one a few months ago. LMAO.

Seriously though... not to go into stereotypes... but if you got one with decent rims and in Black or Dark Blue, its not really a soccer mom car. Hell even if you get it in a light color... for me its the rims that make all the difference. If you have smaller rims, think about upgrading to their 20 or 21" inchers. (You will sacrifice utility in the snow though, because they will fit summer tires to it... FYI).

It's a great car... why change it just because SOME others perceive it as a soccer mom car? Like someone else said... it's only a soccer mom car if you go to Beverly Hills or Greenwich, CT.... for the rest of the world, its just a really nice SUV.

Its not like you are buying a Dodge Caravan, Toyota Sienna etc...

If you feel you must change it... I recommend:

    - Porsche Cayenne S (Parents have the last gen GTS...it's a pretty fantastic ride).... but also considered a rich people's soccer mom car too.

    - Range Rover/Sport - But the sport is kinda small... and the classic Range Rover is like 85K+ The classic Range is totally a rich mom's car. It's the car of choice for all the women who have to get to their tennis lessons and to their brunches in the suburbs with friends. Believe me, this is the kind of stuff I grew up around... haha...

    - BMW X6 - Definitely not a soccer mom car... but very much... there is no utility to it. lol. Its got an awesome look though.

I wouldnt change it. Audis are fantastic cars ... I drive one myself. If you cant stand the "image" that much, look into another Audi.... the S4 is awesome (thats what I have), as is the new A6 and A7 ..... all have quattro available... Again, honestly... if YOU LIKE the car... then to hell with what other people think. It's a sweet ride for 99% of people in the world. The other 1% are haters/jealous...

Is a smaller q5 out of the question? Also try a BMW m6xr or an x6, they're crossovers but are very sporty and also have elevation

"For it to be more rugged looking."

Then you are indeed looking for a car based on image, rather than functionality. Agreed?

So what are your functions, or image needs? You say you have a pickup, so let's cross a need for hauling off the list.

You wanna take a mob of friends out to dinner or somewhere? You need lots of seating for that.

You wanna snag a fella? A snappy convertible for 2 might do the trick.

Your needs will define the car for you, with some concern for image. You need to decide what want to do with it, and how you want to appear to others.
