Last night I came out to my best friend. When I was telling her I felt like my heart was gonna explode it was beating so fast, but fortunately she was so supportive. icon_smile.gif

Good for you, buddy. That's a real big step and you should be proud of it.

How good a friend is he if he would hate part of what you are?

Chances are most of your your 'best friends' already know or are guessing you are gay.

Here's why I think so. I was married to a woman for many years and didn't come out till my son was about 14 years old. His reaction, "Well Duh! you never look at a woman's tits or ass like str8 guys do. I figured that out years ago."

Busted by a 14 year old. Your friends already know. And from the language barrier I sense with most of the gays in the closet on here, the cultural stigma is greater I know, but you really are missing a big part of your life.

Hey Matt I am so glad you did it. My best friend Spence looked at me and laughed. He thought it was funny that I was telling him something he already knew and really didn't care about. to this day we always laugh about it.

Hey..... omgazn.... Love is undconditional, they love you or they don't.

Amen. If it were me, I'd tell him. One of two things will happen: 1) the news will change his perception of gays (totally seen it happen) or 2) once he knows who u really are, he won't want to be friends anymore.

If number one happens, think how much better friends you'll become. If number two happens, it'll be a shame but why would you want to put more time into a friendship that can't grow and is doomed to end badly?

To OP: congratulations! The first ones are always the hardest!
