I just moved to Boston about 10 days ago, and frustrated that bars close here super early. Last call is 1:30, and bars close about 2. I never heard of bars closing that early. So what time do they close were you're from?

Montreal is 3, last call is around 2:45.

I went in San Francisco and I thought it'd be a party city, but when the lights went on at 2am, I was like "wtf, seriously ?!". Huuuuge let down. You don't wanna stop dancing when you're that drunk, y'know...

I lived where it was 1 AM, later changed to 2. I think here in Wilton Manors there is no limit, but I'm now too old to find out... LOL!

England used to be 11pm,later for clubs (can't tell you when, hate clubs).
It's been changed - they can apply for 24 hour opening (doesn't mean they'll get it though). Some pubs are still 11 , others 12 or 1am,it varies on what the licensee's applied for or feels like doing.

Don't complain, you could be hereicon_biggrin.gif

Depends on the club/bar. Bars normally close around 1am - 2am unless it's a bar/club combo. Some bars stay open until 4am. Clubs can carry on through 6am.

Here in Ontario they can serve drinks till 2a.m. and I believe you have an hour to drink up. When I became legal years ago it was 1 a.m. and no booze on Sundays. Ontario has probably the most archaic booze laws in Canada

I remember years ago in Seattle etc.. they'd serve you a drink till about 1:45 then snatch them away at the crack of 2 am. All drinks had to be gone. . What they'd do is put the bar clocks ahead (bar time)

I never understood why people make such a big deal out of last call. If you know when last call is then you know exactly how much drinking time you have. If the bar closes at 2am then you might head out around 8-9pm. If it closes at 4 you might head out around 11-12am. I prefer to head out earlier because if I'm out until 4am my body's schedule will be completely out of whack.
And if you're not drunk enough when 2am rolls around you need better friends.

Generally 2am, howevere there are a few "after-hours" places that stay open and serve booze til about 4am.....like i said tho, most mainstream bars and clubs (whether str8 or gay) they close at 2am, with the exception of a few.

Here in Spain it's normal to start arriving to pubs and discos at 1 am (before that the group of friends normally gathers in one house to start drinking over there) so most of the locals close at 5am where the biggest and more important discos can close at 6 or 7... There are even locals called "afterhours" that open when the other close so the party can continue (but not in all cities...). Never visited one of those though, as a 4am I'm already really tires and decide always to retire to home...
Oh and never heard of the last call concept over here... You can buy drink right till they close, or at least near when hey close...

Sorry Dave, welcome to the nanny state. This is what happens when you like in a state founded by the Puritians. Hell some how gay marriage is legal here, but there is still a 200+ year old law on the books that makes it illegal to have anything but missionary style sex with your wife.

I'm going to pretend like I am still in DC.... icon_sad.gif

Last call is 2 am... bars dont really close until 3 or 4, depending.

Here in Boston it seems that they shoo you out as soon as the clock strikes 1:30...

In Orlando legally 2AM, and then closed by 3AM, but most bars have last call around 1:45 and start shuffling everyone out the door by 2:45 so they can make the 3AM cutoff time for being closed.

The entire State of Missouri has a state-mandated 1:30am closing time, with most bars having last call shortly after 1:00am. Certain bars in St. Louis (I can't speak for Kansas City) will stay open until 3:00am because they serve food and are classified as restaurants instead of just bars. St. Louis in general is pretty lenient on closing times, I think mainly because it means more tax revenue for the city.

Back in the day, folks would head over to East St. Louis after the city bars closed and stay out until the sun came up. (THAT'S a rough drive home, believe me.) I believe that Illinois has a state-mandated closing time of 3:00am, but the officials in East St. Louis just blatantly ignore that.
