Is there any organization working across Islamic countries to do something?
It's so disturbing...they will keep killing our brothers and sisters in the name of religion.

What's really disturbing is it's often their own family that turns them in I had to witness this in Iraq and the was nothing I could do. I asked out translator who was from the regin what crime had they committed and he said, "being with eachother like a man and women should be." No one spoke no one said a word, it wasnt our place or our mission and to this day the sight haunts me they looked like teenagers. I wanted so bad to do something but I just sat there and was thankful that dispite america having people who hate us this was not something we feared as the people there do. Puts fighting for LGBT rights into perspective for me. We can't just stop at marriage rights and other things we fight here but the fight must countinue to all our brothers and sisters across the world.

You can thank Sharia law. I still am puzzled how they can put another human to death. I am quite sure the Qur'an forbids murder of any type. I had a discussion with a Muslim friend and he agrees that only zealots believe Allah wants them to carry out murder for such acts. I suppose those that killed those gay men will enjoy their time in Hell, as their religion goes.

Not all Muslim countries kill people for having gay sex.. Only Iran and Saudi Arabia as i know !! i live in Syria and u may end up behind bars for 1 to 3 years for doing sucha thing ,,
well it is really horrible but there is nothing we can do about it cuz Muslims in general dont accept the idea of homosexuality at all .. so if someone knew that you were gay, they would despise u and treat u as an animal or sick person ..this is why gay people in most Muslim countries are still undercover, including me and thousands of guys i know

I am truly sad when they do this in the name of religion. I am Muslim, you can imagine that its double the grief I have to go through to live quietly as a bisexual and not openly...

    *sigh*

All those countries have 3 things in common: they're poor, backward and religious.

The poorer a country gets the more backward it becomes, the more religion will thrive. There's a reason the Bachmanns and Perrys are running in 2012 and not in 2002.

Be fucking vigilant. People capable of these kinda acts are amongst us, and they'll use their cover of some kind of ideology to defend their actions until it has lost the taboo status in society.

See this movie, "Die Welle", in which a teacher tries to recreate the circumstances on which the Nazis came to power in his classroom, by moving things from the taboo zone (brutalizing people) to accepted by society through peer pressure.

In all these shithole countries there is a culture of non-intervention or joining in when gay people get singled out, punished, killed, etc. under some vague cloak of religion. Our innate human sense that persecution is wrong is silenced by the pressure to conform.

By the looks of it, the first thing a society needs to do is move from collectivism to individualism - what happened in the West during the 60s and 70s - where it becomes acceptable for individuals to stand up for what they think is right. Otherwise everybody stays silent forever, and you end up with countries like the islamic ones.
