How do I get a bigger, muscler butt?

Alright so I have this obsession with muscular hairy asses. Just last year I'd take showers with guys every day in the locker room, and I'd admire how some of the guys' asses are so perfectly hairy, muscular, and round. Anyone know any workouts on how to make your butt a lot more muscle?

Squats. You're on your own for figuring out the hair part.

Agreed.

As for the hair you could probably shave your "grundle" and superglue it to your ass. I hear thats the new craze in Europe.

Just be careful not to sit down until AFTER the glue dries.

I find lunges are more effective than squats. But deadlifts are most effective of all.

Rear leg lifts can also help. Especially if you do then while maintaining the plank position.

Outside the gym, tennis, raquetball and biking are great too. And while I can't speak from personal experience like I can with the prior, I know from up-close inspection that figure skating is also, *gulp*, amazing for the butt.

Squats, Deadlifts, Lunges

Without weights: Lunge-walk (Iron mikes), Dirty Dog/Jane Fondas (doggie style position, left one leg at a time out to your side and back, repeat)

Hair: time or Rogaine.

Squats and Lunges are essential for the butt, however the exercise called "Good Mornings" target the butt nicely, especially at the top.

ALso, don't underestimate adding as much walking and running as possible to your life. that's what the glutes are for! Before I ever started lifting i was a walking commuter and i was even skinnier than i am now--- but i had a great ass

With any kind of muscle building effort I always change things up. I do a combination of squats, lunges, and dead lifts. They don't call me bubbles for nothing! ;)

forget all those spine crunching squats (if using weights) that almost everyone has told you to do that can over develop quads while going for that bubble butt. look up warrior three (yoga pose, digasana) or ask it to be shown to you. its so effective that people, including myself, quit doing it as to not overdevelop.

Try the legs days from the 12 week strong and lean exercizes (Day 5 of weeks 10 - 12) or the Muscle Building legs days. I'll warn you though, they're tough.

Plyometrics: jump squats, jump lunges, box jumps, etc. It's important to have EXCELLENT form before doing them. Most people's knees buckle and feet collapse when they do this.

Pylometrics are right up there with water boarding, and shoving bamboo under the fingernails, in my book.

Ah now way!! I hated working my lower body until I found plyometrics. All that jumping makes me feel like a kid...and they're the only exercises that helped my butt grow. I'm just sayin'...

I suppose that once I'm in better shape, I'll like them better. I do know that the few that I've done, through 12 week workouts, have made my butt more muscular. I just need to work on stamina while doing them so I can jump around like a kid and be happy with them. Until then, they belong in Gitmo.

I workout with my legs and some exercises work good for my butt. I use Leg Press machine, curls, quad, abduction, glutes, cable lateral rise, cable medial raise, sitting calves, and standing calves....

I also like Donkey Kicks. There is a machine at my gym that allows for weighted donkey kicks. And damn is my ass sore the next day, feels like I spent a day down at the docks ;-)

Listen to the bald one that works out like a fiend!

Squats

Lunges

Bicycling (that's how I got mine!)

Leg curls

Spin class

Box jumps

Leg presses

Those work amazingly well! Take it from me.

Man, if your 19yo plyometric exercises are ok, but if you are a body builder with poor flexability or older be carefull with this stuff because you really don't need what it offers, unless you are playing semi- and proff sports, and it can really age your body joints, tendons, etc..

What bout just wearing a baseball cap hidding your head in shame and doing the butt blaster? I know someone who swears by it and let me tell u it worked for him, he has turned his ass is a smooth, round, bubble full of fun.

If u have bad knees like me I would stay away from deadlifts, squats, lunges, and butt blaster or use very small weights and don't run, stairmaster, etc

Widening your stance on the squats(in conjunction with regular stance, not instead of)helps target the hip area more and take some work off the quads. Be careful though, use lighter weight esp at first.
Lunges are great and so is any form of the "butt blaster".

No offense to my yoga friends, but resistance exercise builds more muscle.
Big butt????
DEADLIFTS, DEADLIFTS AND A FEW MORE DEADLIFTS. Specifically, straight leg deadlifts. It is basic fundamental mechanics. The big ass muscle pulls the upper torso up. Squats are good also but they involve many more muscles. Yoga? Using body weight? Good, but not nearly as good as weight training.
There is a reason you never see guys in the gym doing deadlifts or stiff leg deadlifts....it hurts, it is exhausting and it works.

OMG, I agree completely. I like the kind that take a little bit of effort/workouts to achieve.

Truly good advice. I do both, but always having great calves, I've also always had a tight ass too.

Leg squats. I dont do lunges but I agree genetics prob helps. Try eating good fats like almonds and avocados too, as they help re-distribute your body fat to "good" places.

I find that doing back lunges really makes my glutes kick in. These are the opposite of "front" lunges.

Front lunges are about stepping forward. But for me, I find that when I take a step backward that the leg under me is REALLY doing some serious work. After three sets I get such an amazing pump on my butt I feel like I could serve drinks on a platter on my ass. .
These can be done with dumbbells or a barbell as demonstrated in the video.
Good luck.
