Mine was pretty good. Visited the family, took pictures, and had a nice day. I spent some time reflecting on how great my Mom really is and how much work it must have been to raise all of us (Im 1 of 7).

But at the same time I felt a little sad for the distance there is between her and I. My Mom (my entire family really..) isn't accepting and so its hard to interact with them sometimes. On one had I do have an amazing family that is loving, caring, and fun. On the other hand they are very religious and view being gay as a sin (more along the lines of Abomination!!! lol). Although Im completely out, the only way we can interact is if we just not talk about that issue.

I found myself wrestling with these conflicting feelings of gratitude, love, and appreciation, vs. being judged, ostracized, and distant.

But overall, I was happy to see all of my family and I enjoyed spending time with them.

Anyway, Im curious to hear how everyone else celebrated the day..

Well, I called my mom at 9:30am, my step-father answered the phone, obviously just awake. Strange (they are usually early rising). My mother was just about out the door. She was on her way to the hospital, the night before my grandparents were visiting her in Nashville, from Cleveland and grandpa had a stroke. So mom and grandma spent mother's day in the hospital, and I had over 20 calls in and out of my phone checking on them and from my sister.
    The otehr grandparents were well.
But it was a stress filled day to say the least.icon_confused.gif

Those who forgot to greet me last Saturday made up for it by greeting me a Happy Mum's Day.
