Ok, so I work out and kill myself in the gym and doing cardio every week.... I do at least 45min per day 5 times per week of good running/swimming. On top of that I might add another 45 mins of quick walking about 3-4 times a week (running and walking is generally done outdoors, not on a machine, my heart rate for running is normally between 75-85% of max and walking 65-70% of max). I work out in the gym about 5 times a week. According to my heart rate monitor I am burning through about 800-1000 calories per day from exercise (I have polar, so I do not know how accurate it is - and I am trying to be conservative here, on some days my total count is more like 1500 calories). I have been exercising like this for about 2 and half months now. In the last year I have a tried various other options of exercising a lot less, maybe about gym 3 times a week and running 3 times a week. My weightlifting is I think intense.... if I look at my heart monitor my heart rate goes well into the 75-85% range, with peaks well over that. Also my muscles feel nicely exhausted after a work out and have that tired feel the next day (sometimes not everytime)... I try and I would say 80-90% of the time, I push my last rep to failure and each rep is pretty close to failure... i do between 8-12 reps and push the weights up and down depending on what i am doing.... supersets, normal sets etc... I try to mix it up.

I am 1.96m (6Ft 4 (I think)) and 94kgs (206 lbs).... my weight seems to fly around that number, up one week to as high as 96kgs or as low as 91 kgs.... I suspect that is just water.... eating wise I have tried moderating my eating habits and I think that I am consuming about 2000-2200 calories per day. Fat content wise I have tried and I think I keep it low, concentrating on Carbs and Protien. I do use a protein supplement to get me to 6 meals a day (Weider Whey Protein with a bit of milk and water and often a fruit 3 times per day)... I am doing that simply because it is quick and easy to get the required protien and carbs numbers.

Ok here is my problem.... at the start of all this (1 year ago) my body fat count was about 25%... after a couple of weeks it had dropped to 23% and since then it has persisted at between 20-23%. My body has made no real visible changes.... my arms feel and look a bit bigger and slightly more defined, as do my pecs, but honestly nothing that dramatic - especially around my gut. If I look at the weights that i push, say for bicep curls or bench press or chin ups, there have been no dramatic gains... there have been some but like bench press I was able to push 90pounds at the start (1 year ago) and now about 120pounds... this week i aim to get it up to 130 lbs (watch this spot)... Chins Ups without assistance are almost impossible for me now, as it was at the start....all in all it seems a far cry from where I would expect to be after all this effort...

Assume that I eat tooo much, then surely all this work out should at least translate into same weight but more muscle?

Assume that i eat tooo little, then my weight should drop?

Assume nothing, then why does nothing change, even when i cut my work out sessions back...as I said I have been at this for a year now (this more "intense" approach only started about 2 and half months ago)?

Am I just impatient for change.... are my genetics dooming me to stay where I am?

Is it possible that certain men are unable to drop their body fat below say 15%?

I am honestly not obessed with trying to get my body fat down or trying to get to a target weight, what I am interested in is getting onto a path of change that will result in visible results either way, staying the same just seems annoying...

Thanks guys and looking forward to your comments or similar experiences.
